The new term had already started and things were going off with a bang, all of my classes had become easy and I even had spare time to myself, no doubt later on for the NEWTs. I was at the library looking for a few books to study up on. I had set aside my research on Sirius Black for now, since that was already such a heavy topic, especially with what Harry had said. The poor kid, he really did get hell.
"Hello Oz," I was a bit too good at this guessing game, I began to smile myself and glanced up to see Harry standing at the table, "Hello, Harry, how can I help you?" I asked, bookmarking my Theory of Magic book and gave him my undivided attention. I watched as he fiddled with his sleeves and didn't meet my eye, he was nervous, "Um... Could I ask for your help?"
"Help? Me?" I stumbled for a moment and shook my head, "Of course! How can I help you, Harry?"
He seemed to fidget more, "I need help with some classes..." I was surprised he wasn't going to Hermione for help. She was quite a bright witch, "And I can't ask Hermione for help, she said she would but she's overloaded with work right now..." That made much more sense. I slowly nodded, "I see... Well, what class is it?"
Harry took out one of his books, "It's Astrology and Magic..."
That class felt too easy for me, though I remembered quickly how John and Amie had such a rough time in that class. They often got their zodiacs mixed up and often forgot there were 13 not 12 of them. I couldn't leave the distressed boy on his own, "Absolutely I'll help. What lesson are you on right now?"
"I'm on 'The Centaur's Bow'."
I hummed, "Ah, you're on the lesson for Sagittarius, so what is it you need help on specifically?"
"Well, I'm having a hard time not with the reading, but understanding what the zodiac does pertaining to magic...." That was always the kicker, that was one of the reasons that Amie came to me so much in that class. There were many times we were given detention based on us talking so much during it. That part I never let Amie live down, because she absolutely hated every time the teacher threatened it.
"Not to worry Harry, I've got the solution, and I'll help you find it," I put away my books into my shoulder bag that sat on the floor beside me, "Go ahead and flip to the page, pull up a seat and we can start on this..."
He flipped to the page and hours seemed to pass by, I taught him about the Sagittarius, how it invoked, what it invoked. I could see Harry gaining confidence as we furthered along, his confusion on this subject alone began to leave him, and when I quizzed him over it he got every question right.
"Wonderful job Harry! See? I knew you could do it," I quietly cheered, trying not to disturb the others around us. He sighed in relief and smiled, "Thank you... This was a load off of my shoulders, especially with the big test coming up!"
"It's not a problem," I gave him a pat on the shoulder.
"Honestly though... If it's alright..." He fidgeted once more, "Could we keep doing this? A study time?"
Shocked was not the word that described how I felt, only because beforehand Harry and I didn't have much interaction except for a spare few throughout the whole year. I couldn't complain though. Harry was a lovely lad, and he was so gentle and kind to everyone around him. Well, to those who deserved it.
"That sounds like a fantastic idea Harry," The nerves melted off of his face, and I continued, "Why don't we meet twice a week at 14 o'clock? It's after classes and before dinner."
Harry nodded in agreement, "Yeah! And how about we do Mondays and Fridays?"
I hummed, "Hmm, I don't know about Mondays, those are quite busy for me, what about Wednesdays and Fridays?" Harry nodded and began to gather his items that had been strewn on the table, his quill, his books, and his wand, "That works for me! Thank you again, Oz! I'll see you on Friday!" Harry stopped in his tracks and turned back around, "There is... one more thing..."
"What is it, Harry?" I tilted my head.
"Would you come with me, Ron, and Hermione later today to Hagrids? He's is going through some dark times right now... Could you come and help us support him?" he asked with a look of somber flushing over him. I nodded and spoke quietly, "Sure..."
He smiled softly, "Thank you, We'll see you later then!"
"See you later..."
