Jasney Ma'Lori
"Anela what's the problem? Why do you act like this?" I asked as I got dressed for the hearing.I decided on slacks, a white button down, and this cute sweater vest. I promise it's cuter than it sounds. I got cornrows yesterday my hair looks so good.
"I don't have a problem. I'm tired of the drama already" she said sitting on my bed.
"Yeah because you're scared of Lani. She beat your ass and admitted to it in front of everybody without a care in the world. You deserved that by the way. After everything you did to her I'm amazed you're still breathing" I said truthfully.
"Some cousin you are" she mumbled under her breath.
"Don't make me call La-Ni" referring to Nene Leakes at the reunion.
"Not funny but I'm leaving. Think about what I said Jasney. I want us to be close like we used to be" she left out the room leaving me in my thoughts about what shoes I wanted to pair with outfit.
I can't go showing up raggedy on her behalf. I have a good feeling about today.
No one really knows but we've been keeping in contact and hanging out.
I learned about her sneaking out and the stuff she does. I mean I don't judge and I support women's rights and wrongs.
Well it's only been two different occasions of us hanging out. I came to see her and the other time she came to me.
To be honest this relationship is better than the one before. I know things will never be the same and quite frankly I don't want them to ever be. I think it was toxic and too many secrets were kept.
At least in this stage everyone is truthful and authentic. We know the good, the bad, and most certainly the ugly.
I'll never give up on Lani even if she can't see it from my eyes. I want to be her support system. She told me that we can't be close because she wants to lives a life that she doesn't want any of us wrapped up in. I need to go to college and forget about her but make no mistake she would watch over me.
I heard her and I knew she was serious but I'll never forget her. It seems as if she's going down a list and spinning the same speech. I heard the boys had forgiven each other and the group is restored in a way.
My thoughts were interrupted by a phone call from Cam. I'm surprised he's even calling me after he found out everything.
I didn't know if I should answer but against my own judgment I answered prepared for whatever the outcome is.
"Hey" I said watching him stare me down through the screen.
"Wassup Jazz" his voice boomed. I don't think I've noticed how deep his voice had gotten over the years. Mainly because he has the most sweetest and gentlest singing voice I've ever heard in my life.
This boy could sing ass off. I'm guilty of watching his YouTube videos repeatedly and streaming his music. I can see him making it in the music industry if he left football. He writes well and has more than enough potential.
"Um nothing getting ready to head to the hearing. How are you?" He kept staring not uttering a word which felt like minutes.
"Yeah me and Lando pulling up to support. My cousin Juju told me the date and time got pushed up so we flew out" he replied still holding the same expression from earlier.
"Thats nice of you both. Well did you need anything in particular?" I asked.
Don't get me wrong it's nice to speak to him but this didn't seem like a social call.
