The sick teen couldn't let Ethan see the blood otherwise he would call her father and have her admitted to the hospital. If she wiped it on her clothes Ethan would still know what it was, for the moment she stuffed her hand in her pocket to hide it as Ethan was looking for a way out.

The elevator was dark and stuck between floors. Until the power came back on or Sharon sent for help. Until one of the two things happened they were stuck. Ethan then tried to tend to Jordan making sure she was comfortable, he felt her forehead and noticed she was burning up.

"Jo, you're burning up. Tell me everything and don't hide or hold anything back" Ethan says gently but firmly.

She sighed. "Other than feeling like I'm baking in an oven, I'm nauseous, it feels like there's a jackhammer in my head hammering my skull, and" She pulled out her hand to show him the blood in her hand. "I coughed up blood. And now you're gonna tell my dad aren't you?"

When Ethan saw the fresh blood in Jordan's hand, her fingers curling around it trying it hide it he knew without a doubt this was more serious than just the flu.

"I'm telling your father when we get out of here, you're sick Jordan. And you've been feeling like this since yesterday?"

She weakly nodded. "Yeah, it got worse today. The lights were so bright it was making my head worse, I feel like I'm gonna puke at any moment"

Ethan quickly his pockets for his small flashlight, he quickly grabbed it turned it on, and started to check her eyes to see if he saw anything. Jordan winced at seeing the bright light.

"I'm sorry Jo, this may not be the ideal way to check but I have to" Ethan apologized.

"I understand"

He had seen her pupils dilate as if she was using again and probably coming off a high. Everyone knew how much Jordan's sobriety had meant to her once she got clean and sober, if anyone ever called it into question about anything even for something as small as an aspirin she would get defensive.

"Jo" Ethan started cautiously knowing this would upset her. "I need you to tell me if you took anything that could have made you feel like this"

As sick as she was she looked at him upset and with hurt in her eyes. This was something she hated, whenever something like this occurred their first instinct was to question if she was using again and her sobriety was questioned.

"I didn't take anything Ethan. I don't take anything anymore, not since I got sober. I don't take aspirin" Her voice was weak but forceful.

"Jo, your pupils are dilated as if you've been using or taking something. I understand if you're scared and don't want your father to know. But it's okay, people in recovery slip for various reasons. I just need to know what you took so I can treat you once were upstairs"

When Jordan heard Ethan tell her that her pupils were dilated as if she were using, her eyes went wide. This had been new to her. She wouldn't willingly take anything since she got sober. So how would she get drugs into her system?

"Ethan, I'm telling the truth I never took anything. I got rid of everything at home, cough syrups, Tylenol, aspirin, and any medications. I don't use anymore, I swear on my brother and mother's graves" She took a breath as a wave of nausea hit her. "I swear on my unborn daughter I didn't take anything"

"Understandably, you're scared, you may feel ashamed or embarrassed that you slipped-" He was cut off.

"Ethan, I'm telling you I didn't slip. I swear it. Everything is fine there's no reason-" Jordan stopped as she started seizing.
