Paranoia coursed through her body as she thought back to what her father said to her a week ago. Since the day Giovanni showed his art room to her, she had been avoiding him. She couldn't even bring herself to tell him about the threat her father sent his way. She was scared of what the outcome would be.

She thought avoiding him was the best thing for him right now. She was doing it for his safety, but he didn't know that and she knew what it could lead to.

"Good morning, Ana!" Kimora greeted her best friend with a smile as she entered the kitchen. She stretched and let out a yawn before walking over to the counter.

"Morning," she mumbled before spooning some cereal into her mouth.

"I'm surprised you're even out of your room. What's up with you?" Kimora asked. She walked over to the cabinet and grabbed a bowl, then she proceeded to fix a bowl of cereal for herself.

"Nothing." Ana shook her head. She stuffed another spoonful of cereal into her mouth.

"Don't lie to me. You've been distant. Hell, Gio been blowing me up asking about you." Kimora told her.

Ana sighed, dropping her spoon into her bowl. "My dad popped up over here a few days ago. He told me to leave Gio alone or he'll have him killed."

"I'm guessing you left him alone, which explains why he's been texting me?" Kimora tilted her head to the side.

"Yeah," Ana sighed again. "I didn't tell him. He called me over that day too, and he was in a good mood. I didn't want to ruin it."

"I can understand that, but you're practically ghosting him." Kimora told her.

"I know." Ana lowered her head. She ran her fingers through her hair as she thought about the idea.

Before Kimora could say anything, someone began knocking at the door. She turned her attention to Ana, who looked over at the door and back at her. She brought her hand up to her mouth, her eyes looking into Kimora's hazel ones.

"Who is it?" Kimora shouted towards the door. She held her eye contact with Ana as they waited for a response.

"It's Gio!"

Ana's eyes went wide as she looked back and forth between Kimora and the door. Her first mind was to get up and run to her room, but she knew that would do no good. She hated confrontation.

"What do you want me to do?" Kimora asked.

"Let him in."

Kimora nodded and walked to the door. She unlocked it and pulled it open, stepping to the side to allow Giovanni to walk inside. She closed the door behind him.

"What's up, Mo?"

"Hey, Gio." Kimora waved.

"What's up with you, Ana?" Gio asked as he walked towards her. "I been tryna get in touch with you."
