Alex and Scott got settled in the guest bedroom. She couldn't deny that her heart was beating a lot faster than normal. And in all honesty, Scott could probably heart it with his heightened senses. Scott was acutely aware of the way his heightened senses picked up on every sound, every heartbeat. He could hear the slight uptick in Alex's pulse, the way it quickened every time he accidentally brushed against her while they prepared for bed.

He tried to act calm, but inside his own heart was beating almost as fast as hers. He couldn't deny the attraction he felt towards her, the draw he had to her from the moment he met her.

Alex slid into the left side of the bed while Scott got into the right side. She knew that if Caleb saw this, she'd be toast. His overprotective brother mode would take over at the sight of her in bed next to a boy.

Scott tried his best to keep his distance from Alex in the bed, but found it nearly impossible with its relatively small size. The feel of her presence beside him was almost dizzying, sending his senses into overdrive. He could feel the warmth radiating from her body, the gentle rise and fall of her breath.

As he lay there, trying his best to keep his thoughts at bay, he couldn't help but wonder what Caleb would say if he knew what was happening right now. He almost laughed out loud at the thought.

Alex suddenly chuckled softly, shaking her head, "If Caleb saw me right now he'd flip."

Scott turned his head to look over at her, a smile playing on his lips. "Yeah, I bet he would," he chuckled, imagining the protective brother reaction. "He'd probably be at the door, banging, ready to rip me limb from limb."

She smiled and nodded in agreement, "Have you seen the look he gives Derek if he gets too close? It's like he wants to murder him." Scott chuckled again, remembering all the times Derek and Caleb had crossed paths. There was definitely tension there, and it never boded well.

"Oh yeah, I've seen those looks," he said, shaking his head. "It's like he's silently threatening to eviscerate him. And yet, Derek just stands there, completely unfazed. It's kind of hilarious to watch."

Alex rolls her eyes, "I don't think Caleb realizes the strength you two have with being a werewolf."

"Probably not," Scott agreed, rolling onto his side to face her a bit more. "He's so overprotective that he doesn't realize he's not the strongest, toughest guy in the room anymore. I mean, sure, he's pretty fit." He glanced over at her, raising an eyebrow jokingly. "But he's not werewolf fit."

She also turns to face him, her elbow propped against the pillow. "He's seen the show a thousand times, you think he'd get it through his head that werewolves are more powerful than he thinks."

Scott shook his head in disbelief. "You would think so, right? But I guess there's a difference between knowing about werewolves from a show and actually being around them in real life."
