Trent:

Trent is a cute goth boy who lives in Oslo, Norway. He is one of a kind—tough on the outside but a total sweetheart once you peel back the layers. Although his goth appearance and rough attitude may intimidate people, his friends know him as deeply loyal and sensitive. Trent is emotional and easily moved by music and art, but he struggles to express this side of himself, often leading to misunderstandings. He tends to hide behind sarcasm or a foul mouth, using it as a shield to avoid appearing vulnerable.

He has a temper, though, and tends to act out impulsively, leading him to get into fights frequently. Growing up, Trent was rebellious, often clashing with authority, but these fights also come from a sense of justice. He's quick to defend anyone he cares about and has no problem standing up to bullies or jerks.

One of Trent's biggest struggles is his fear of abandonment. After meeting Maxine, someone he deeply cares for, he started drifting away from his best friend, Charlie, without even realizing it. He worries about being left behind or forgotten, which makes him unintentionally distance himself from people who care about him, like Charlie. This emotional turmoil often fuels his reckless behavior, as he finds it easier to push people away before they can hurt him.

Beneath his gruff exterior, Trent is artistic and introspective, often finding solace in writing poetry, drawing, or playing the guitar. These activities allow him to process his emotions in ways he can't express verbally. He also has a dark sense of humor, which he uses to cope with the more difficult aspects of life. Despite the chaos surrounding him, Trent is searching for a sense of peace and belonging but struggles to figure out where to find it.

Charlie:

Charlie is a cute, sexy goth boy with a dark, brooding attitude that he has cultivated since he was in the 4th grade. Growing up in San Francisco, California, Charlie developed a fascination with death and all things macabre from a young age, leading him to embrace a goth lifestyle early on. He loves exploring the deeper, darker aspects of life and death, finding beauty in the morbid. His room is filled with skulls, obscure poetry, and Gothic art, creating a space that reflects his deep, existential mindset.

While Charlie's love for death may make him seem aloof and unapproachable, he is much more than meets the eye. His bad attitude is a defense mechanism—a way to protect himself from people who don't understand him. He doesn't trust easily, and he can be downright rude to people he doesn't know. But once someone earns his trust, they see a whole different side of him. Charlie is deeply thoughtful, with a profound sense of empathy for those he cares about.

Underneath his tough exterior, Charlie is incredibly loyal. He would go to great lengths for those who manage to break through his icy demeanor, particularly Trent, his best friend. Losing touch with Trent has hit him harder than he admits, though he hides his hurt behind a veneer of indifference. Despite his fascination with death, Charlie is surprisingly afraid of being left behind, which is why he can come off as emotionally distant or closed off.

Charlie's love for death also ties into his intellectual curiosity. He reads a lot about philosophy, particularly existentialism and nihilism, and enjoys discussing topics like the meaning of life and mortality. This has given him a unique perspective on life, making him appear mature for his age, though it also isolates him from his peers who find him "too intense" or "weird."

Despite his darker tendencies, Charlie has a soft spot for animals, particularly black cats, and often volunteers at an animal shelter. He's also into music, playing the bass guitar in a local garage band. Music is one of the few ways Charlie truly feels he can express himself, and when he's playing, his usually stoic expression breaks into a rare, genuine smile.

Together, Trent and Charlie balance each other out in ways neither fully realizes, but their recent drift apart is pulling at both of them emotionally. While they've always had each other's backs, both are afraid that their bond may never be the same.
