Bella POV:

As I arrived at Charlies house he helped me carry my bags in the house and the house isn't stylish, but it's comfortable. I see that there is photos of Charlie fishing with Billy Black.

"I put Grandpa's old desk in your room. And I also cleared some shelves in the bathroom." Charlie said.

"That's right. One bathroom." I said. Then I see a photo of younger Charlie and mum, on vacation, beaming with love.

"I'll just put these up in your room." Charlie said, then I said, "I can do it." Then I went to grab my bag but we both bumped into each other awkwardly. But then I backed off, and I just let Charlie carry my bag upstairs.

As I walked into my room and I saw an antique rolltop desk that sits in the corner. Then the room is filled with childhood remnants that have see better days. As I unpack everything, the loneliness finally sets in. And I sit at the edge of the bed. Breathing in and out so I don't start crying.

Then I hear a HONK outside, so I ran across the hall and I looked out the window, to see a faded red truck, circa 1960 pulls up.

I then exit the house to find Charlie getting the driver, a teenage boy, with long black hair, and with a hint of childish roundness in his face. And the two of them help the teenage boy father into a wheel chair.

"Bella, you remember Billy Black." Charlie said. "Glad you're finally here. Charlie hasn't shut up about it since you told him you were coming." Billy said. "Keep exaggerating, I'll wheel you down the hill." Charlie said. "Right after I ram you in the ankles." Billy said.

Then Billy takes several rolls at Charlie, who dodges. Then I see the teenager shakes his head and came towards me. "I'm Jacob. We made mud pies together when we were little kids." Jacob said. "Yeah...I think I remember... are they always like this?" I said.

"It's worse with old age." Jacob said. Then I see Charlie pats the hood of the truck. "So what do you think of your homecoming gift?" Charlie said.

"No way. The truck is for me?" I said. "Just bought it off Billy, here." Charlie said.

"I rebuilt the engine." Jacob said. "It's perfect!" I said. Then I rush to the truck with a genuine smile on my face. And then I see Jacob follow as well. And I accidently hit him with the door as well but he said that's it okay and so I left it alone.

"Okay, so you gotta double pump the clutch when you shift gears but-" Jacob said. Then he hands me the keys as I climb in the truck. "Maybe I can give you a ride to school." I said.

"I go to school on the reservation." Jacob said. "Too bad. Would've been nice to know at least one person." I said.
