The story is told of an old man trying hard to settle a quarrel between a taxi driver and his fare. Apparently, after driving him around for about 3 hours, the fare managed to convince the taxi driver that “there was some nice waakye around the corner” and he strongly recommended that the taxi driver tried “some of the nice waakye”.

The fare bought some of the waakye for himself and some for the taxi driver.  The taxi driver was very appreciative of the gesture and said a big “thank you”.  Now on reaching his final destination, the fare paid the taxi driver what was initially agreed on LESS the cost of the waakye.

The taxi driver understandably was furious!! But the passenger would not budge. So far as he was concerned he never said he will pay for the taxi driver's waakye. Their argument was loud and they were near blows.

How does the old man solve this?
