The elevator doors closed quickly, Y/N was in shock, she hadn't seen him in 2 years, and she never thought she would see him again.

As soon as the elevator doors opened again, now on the floor below, Y/N ran quickly as if her life depended on it, she was so confused and stressed that she couldn't think straight.

She saw the bus approaching and ran inside it without thinking twice and then went home.

Arriving home, when she opened the door the place seemed very silent, the only person Y/N thought about at that moment was Ellie, she ran to her room to check on her, when she got close to the door, she found herself sleeping softly.

Y/N went back to the living room, sat on the couch, and with her hands on her face began to cry, crying from stress and nervousness.

Mikasa left the bathroom and ran towards her friend who was collapsing on the couch, she approached and hugged Y/N.

“Was the interview really that bad?” Mikasa asked worriedly.

“No…the interview was great,” Y/N said, wiping the tears from her face.

“Then I don’t understand, what happened?” Mikasa said, looking confused.

“I saw him, Mika.”

“Him? Eren?”

“I ran into him at the company today,” Y/N said, her voice shaking slightly. “He was standing right in front of me when I left.”

Mikasa’s heart skipped a beat when she heard that.

“And how was it? Did you talk to him?”

Y/N shook her head quickly.

“Not exactly… I saw him and I froze. He looked so…good. And I…well, I didn’t know how to react.”

Mikasa leaned forward, interested.

“And how did you feel when you saw him?”

Y/N bit her lower lip, remembering the moment.

“It was weird. A part of me was happy to see him again, but another part was completely distressed. I just wanted to disappear at that moment! “Mikasa placed her hand on Y/N’s.

“That’s totally understandable. You’ve lived a history together. It’s normal to feel a mix of emotions.”

Y/N sighed.

“I thought I had already gotten over all of this. But seeing him brought back all those memories… The laughter, the plans… even the fights.”

Mikasa paused before speaking again.

“Do you think you still have feelings for him?”

Y/N hesitated before answering.

“I don’t know… Sometimes I think I do, but I think it’s just nostalgia. He was part of my life for so long…” Mikasa beamed understandingly.

“Look, there’s no need to rush into figuring this out now. The important thing is how you feel now and what you want for your future.”

“No Mika, I can’t do that, not after everything I’ve been through.”

*Flashback* (2 and a half years ago)

The bus rocked gently as Y/N watched the streets of her new city through the window. Everything was so different; the trees were taller, the buildings more modern, and the air had a peculiar scent of adventure.

As she disembarked, her heart was pounding with a mix of anxiety and motivation. With a heavy suitcase in one hand and a crumpled map in the other, Y/N followed the directions to the apartment that would be her new home. The walk there was filled with thoughts about what her new life would be like, what the people she would meet would be like, and whether she would really be able to adapt.
