It was my first few days of college, and I couldn't keep my eyes off him.
Armin Arlert - the shy, brilliant senior who I had admired from afar for years, even back in high school.
I was a freshman than too, he was a senior and dating some girl.
I had watched him blossom from a timid boy into a confident, respected young man, and my heart raced every time I caught a glimpse of his kind blue eyes and gentle smile.
Even if I had known him for only two semester, before going off to college.
When his long-term girlfriend had to move away, I felt a pang of guilt, but deep down I couldn't help but hope that maybe, just maybe, he would be single now.
And here we were, finally attending the same university. I made sure to schedule my classes so that I could be in the same lecture halls as him, just for a chance to be near him.
Today was the day. I had mustered up every ounce of courage I had.
As I saw him walking down the hall with his closest friends, Eren and Mikasa, I knew I had to make my move.
Before I could talk myself out of it, I quickened my pace and reached out, tapping him lightly in the middle of his back, due to his height.
Armin turned around, his brow furrowed in confusion.
He looked more handsome from the front.

He said softly, those beautiful blue eyes locked onto mine.
I could feel my cheeks burning as I forced myself to speak.

I stammered.

The words tumbled out before I could stop them. I held my breath, waiting anxiously for his response.
Eren's eyes went wide, and I saw the corners of his mouth twitch as he tried to hold back a laugh.
Mikasa elbowed him sharply in the ribs, giving him a stern look.
Armin was speechless, blinking at me in surprise. I felt my heart sink- of course he would say no, why would someone as amazing as him ever want to date a shy, awkward freshman like me?
