Hold on to Me and Never Let Me Go

Dominik filled an alabaster bowl with fortified whole-grain cereal. After adding low fat milk and blueberries he set it on the bed tray as well as a banana almond flax smoothie. Picking up the tray he carried it to the back room and closed the door with his foot. Rhea was staring at the two sleeping babies.

“Here you go Mami, a nice light breakfast. I’ll watch the babies while you eat ok?” He offered sitting back down.

Nodding she took the tray, head hung low and fingers trembling as she reached out for the spoon. He covered her hand, then shifted to feed her and watch the babies. As soon as he finished Dominik wiped her mouth and kissed her forehead.

“The gang is gunna drive us to Texas. Truth and Bianca joined us so Liv, Finn, and Damian won’t have to accommodate us not driving. If you want you can sit in the main space with us while I cook?” He offered.

Rhea didn’t say a word, somber eyes fixed on the sleeping babies as her hands shook. She was still in shock, not having actually spoken since Austa's birth. Kissing her cheek Dominik wrapped his arms around her. He refused to push her, opting to meet her where she was at and just take care of everything.

“I was thinking we should rent an Airbnb for everyone but now I’m thinking a penthouse hotel stay. Maybe set you up for a nice spa treatment and what not. Hell I've even considered looking at, like, a nice secluded manor for us. In fact….” He paused.

Leaning back he grabbed his phone and pulled up Zellow.

“Let’s find a place together.” He offered.

He set the filter for houses only, any number of bathrooms and bedrooms, no HOA, he checked off all the views and amenities then hit search.

“Oh there are a lot of good options here. A six bedroom thirteen bath in Austin, one in Huston for…….wait nah that’s like way more and only has like one extra room. Five room eight bath place in Huston. Wow some of these places are in the millions, definitely not touching those but……”

Blue eyes glanced at the phone before Rhea said, “Set the sort by to lowest to highest price.”

His face lit up, heart racing but he played it cool.

“Thanks Mami, I didn’t even think of that.” He lied kissing her forehead, cheek, and neck.

Dominik set the filter causing a bunch of small empty lots to pop up. Followed by one bedrooms then multi room places.

“Oh I like this place, it’s got ten acres….but I don’t like the water, it looks dirty and I don’t want our kids to swim in that.”
