bruna santos:

the paddock buzzes rapidly around me—everyone moving with purpose and every second accounted for.

i thrive in the chaos, juggling interviews, press briefs, and media obligations with the kind of precision my job demands. there's no room for error in formula 1, and i sure as hell don't do distractions.

at least, i didn't do distractions, before lando norris decided to make my life his personal playground.

he's everywhere. popping up in the middle of my day like a mischievous kid who's too clever for his own good, always flashing that smug, cheeky grin. he's been relentless, and it's been driving me insane.

for weeks now, he's been hovering around like an annoying fly, throwing out ridiculous flirtations like it's some game.

and to him, it probably is. he doesn't have to care about consequences. he's young, fast, a golden boy with a carefree smile. i, on the other hand, can't afford to let anyone think i'm entertaining his antics. this job is everything to me. and lando? he's trouble.

but i see him.

out of the corner of my eye, i spot his familiar mop of brown curls, poorly hidden behind a potted plant just outside red bull hospitality.

again.

my jaw tightens. how does he manage to make lurking look so fucking stupid?

i turn back to my notes, pretending i don't see him. maybe if i ignore him, he'll get bored and go away.

audrey, head of pr, strolls by, glancing over the top of her clipboard with a raised eyebrow.

she forms her lips into a line, and i notice a subtle grin grace them. "he's out there again, you know."

i groan, letting my head drop into my hands for a brief moment.

for fucks sake norris.

"you've seen him too?"

"oh, bruna, everyone's seen him." she chuckles, shaking her head in amusement. "he's gotta work on being subtle."

i grit my teeth, trying to keep my cool. "i swear, i'm going to lose it with him."

audrey gives me a sympathetic smile. "could be worse. at least he's cute" she laughs, "aww, look at him!" her voice goes up a pitch, and she seems all
amused with this situation. i wish i could say the same.

"yeah, well cute doesn't keep me employed, does it?"

audrey doesn't argue. she just shoots me a knowing look and walks off, clipboard in hand. meanwhile, i'm still fuming. he thinks this is a game—like he can waltz in here and just disrupt everything. my job is to keep things organised, professional. not to be some driver's personal entertainment.

i can't let this go on. not today.

slamming my notebook shut, i march outside, eyes locked on the idiotic plant lando's still hiding behind. as i approach, he peeks around the leaves, spotting me and grinning. he adjusts his shirt like he's done nothing wrong.

"oh, hey bruna! fancy seeing you here..."

"lando," i growl, storming up to him. without giving him a second to react, i grab his wrist and yank him around the corner, away from people. he stumbles behind me, laughing like this is all hilarious.

"woah... bruna" he mumbles, stumbling behind me, though his voice is laced with that cheeky laugh of his, and i can practically hear the smirk on his face. "this is kinda sudden, don't you think?"
