Seungmin pressed his back harder against the cold wall, squeezing his eyes shut as the group of students barreled past, shoving him aside without a second thought. His breath caught in his throat, and for a moment, he froze in place, his mind flashing back to his old school-the dark memories of being helpless, cornered. The fear surged back with a familiar sting.
Before he could spiral further, Hyunjin's voice broke through the fog of panic.
"Seungmin!" Hyunjin's panicked tone was unmistakable as he rushed over, his eyes scanning the younger boy's face. "Are you okay? Did they hurt you?" He stepped closer, hands hovering over Seungmin's shoulders, as if afraid to touch him without making sure he was alright.
Seungmin swallowed hard and shook his head, his body trembling slightly from the adrenaline. No, they hadn't hurt him physically, but the emotional weight of the moment was overwhelming. The feeling of being powerless again hit him like a wave, but he managed to keep it in, not wanting to worry his older brother.
Hyunjin, though, wasn't easily fooled. Even without physical injuries, he could see the fear lingering in Seungmin's eyes, the remnants of the trauma that still haunted him.
"Hey, Minnie," Hyunjin said softly, his voice gentle and soothing. "It's okay. They were just some dumb kids in a rush. They didn't mean anything to hurt you." He offered a small, reassuring smile, trying to ease the tension.
Seungmin gave him a shaky nod, though his heart still pounded in his chest. Hyunjin squeezed his shoulder gently, pulling him away from the wall.
"Come on, let's get out of here," Hyunjin said, leading Seungmin down the hallway, glancing back now and then to make sure the younger was okay

The cafeteria was buzzing with life as they stepped inside. The clatter of trays, the chatter of students, and the hum of activity filled the air. Hyunjin's eyes darted around until he spotted Felix sitting at a corner table, already waving them over with his bright, sunny smile.
Seungmin followed Hyunjin as they weaved through the crowd, reaching Felix in a few quick strides. Felix, unable to contain his excitement, practically leaped out of his seat.
Felix's face lit up as soon as he saw them. "Hii Seungmin! Hii Hyun-" Felix's greeting was cut short as Hyunjin pulled him into a tight hug, almost lifting him off the ground.
"I missed you," Hyunjin mumbled into his shoulder.
Felix chuckled, hugging him back without a care for the crowd of students milling around. "I missed you too."
Seungmin rolled his eyes with a playful sigh as he sank into a nearby chair. It had barely been two days since they last saw each other, and they were already acting like they'd been apart for years. Nothing new. Still, their love and devotion were undeniable, and Seungmin couldn't help but smile to himself.
Hyunjin and Felix had been dating for a little over a year now. They had first met at an inter-school dance competition and though their teams had been rivals, it was practically love at first sight. In the end, Felix's school had won the competition, but Hyunjin couldn't have cared less. He was so captivated by Felix's energy and charm that instead of feeling disappointed, he'd made a beeline for Felix after the competition, determined to talk to him.
Felix, equally drawn to Hyunjin, had been searching for him too, leaving his own victory celebration behind to find the older boy. When they finally crossed paths in the hallway, Hyunjin hadn't hesitated-he asked Felix out right then and there, not wanting to let the moment pass. And Felix had agreed without a second thought.
They decided to take it slow at first since they literally knew nothing about it each other, but it didn't take long for them to become inseparable. They had turned into this typical lovey-dovey couple, always hovering around each other.
That's when Seungmin had come to know about their relationship as well, because Hyunjin never hid anything from his little brother. Every single thing, however insignificant it maybe, was shared by Hyunjin. And Seungmin did the same. Seungmin had known Felix since then, and they also got along really well, because how could anyone not get along with Felix, the human embodiment of sunshine?
When Seungmin and Hyunjin were looking for a new school, it was Felix who suggested SKZ High. It had vacancies and a great reputation as well. Of course, a small part of him had also been excited at the idea of having Hyunjin with him at school every day, but that wasn't something he'd openly admit. Not that he needed to.
Now, as the three sat around the table eating lunch, Felix suddenly jumped in his seat, his eyes widening as if he had just remembered something important.
"Jinnie!" Felix exclaimed, bouncing in his chair. "I've got something to tell you-or, well, ask you, but you can't say no, okay?"
Hyunjin raised an eyebrow, his lips quirking into a smile. "I'll decide after I hear what it is."
Felix pouted for a second but quickly continued, his excitement too great to hold back. "You know about the dance competition coming up, right? Well, one of our teammates got injured yesterday, and he can't perform. I was thinking... maybe you could take his place? You already know most of the routine, and you're an amazing dancer! Plus, don't you want to dance with me?"
"Whoa, hold on, Lixxie," Hyunjin interrupted, a smile tugging at his lips. "How am I supposed to learn the whole dance in just one day?"
Felix immediately turned on the puppy-dog eyes, his face full of hope. "Come on, Hyunnie, you can totally do it. Are you really underestimating yourself? You know how good you are. And besides..." He leaned closer, his voice softening. "I want to dance with you."
Hyunjin blinked at him, heart melting at Felix's words. He let out a playful sigh, knowing he was already sold. "Alright, alright. You win. I'll do it."
Felix grinned widely, nearly vibrating with excitement. "Yes! I knew you would!"
And with that, Hyunjin's schedule became packed with rehearsals. The next two days were filled with practice, both Felix and Hyunjin pouring everything they had into preparing for the performance. Despite the pressure, they worked in perfect sync, Felix guiding Hyunjin through the choreography with patience and enthusiasm.
By the time they finished rehearsing, no one could even tell that Hyunjin had been a last-minute replacement. The routine was flawless, their chemistry undeniable, and the whole team felt confident that they could take home the trophy. The one that was most anticipated by all schools.
