In the olden days, high in the mountains, there lived a Great Master who ruled over the sea, and stone, and wind, and flame, and invisible forces. His name was Anil, Master of Elements. And he created the Crystal Sword, which gave him immense power.

And to him came the Ghost King, black as night. And the Ghost King said, "Master, make me your apprentice and I will give you my Ghost Mountain." But the Master did not want the Ghost Mountain and refused the Ghost King. The latter left, offended.

Another day the Dark Ruler came to the Master, majestic as a rock. And he said: "Master, make me your apprentice and I will give you half of my domain." But the Master did not want another man's domain and refused the Dark Ruler. The Dark Ruler left, offended.

On the third day, a Black Mage, as powerful as a thousand Immortals, came to the Master. And he said: "Master, make me your apprentice and I will give you my enchanted palace." But the Master did not want the palace and refused the Black Mage. The latter left, offended.

On the fourth day, came a Woman, delicate and beauteous like a spring flower. She did not ask to be his apprentice. She prepared the Master's dinner and shared his bed.

When the Master fell asleep, the Woman killed him and stole the Crystal Sword that gave him power. And she passed that sword on to the Ghost King, the Dark Ruler and the Black Mage, and in gratitude they showered her with riches.

But the Woman did not have time to make use of those riches. The Master's child in her womb killed her in childbirth. Thus the son of the Master of Elements embarked on a journey to avenge his father's death.

When he grew up, he found the Ghost King and pushed him into the Dark Abyss. He found the Dark Ruler and chopped him to pieces. He found the Black Mage and drove him mad by taking his magical powers away.

But he never found the Crystal Sword of the Great Master Anil.

The Ghost King, the Dark Ruler and the Black Mage had not been able to use the power of the blade, but but neither had they succeeded in destroying it. So they had confined the sword under the Ghost Mountain so that no one could use it.

Upon learning of this, the son of the Great Master said: "I could not find the sword of my father, the Great Master of Elements Anil, and therefore I am not worthy of his legacy. I shall obey his will. Many generations from now, my son will come who will find the Crystal Sword. He will become the Master of Elements."
