ADRIAN:
We stopped a few blocks away from the busy 29th Street, Old lane.
I step out of the car, grabbing my black trench coat on my way out. Aaron steps next to me after parking his car nearby.
"Are we here to shop? Or are we here to stalk?" He smirks.
I ignore him and walk off, I have much better things to do than stand here and waste my words on him, things like...there she is.
She stands there in her plain straight jeans, a pink blouse, with a flimsy white sweater on top of that, her long, brown hair, pulled in a loose bun. It's fifteen degrees outside, what is that sweater going to do, she has no care for her health.
What am I going to do with her?
I notice her eyes, sparkling with awe, I follow her line of sight and see a white, lace dress on a mannequin.
She looks at it for a while, then her smile falls, she shakes her head and bites her lips, then turns around and leaves.
I stand in front of the dress after she leaves, it is a beautiful dress with short cap sleeves and covered in a beautiful lace pattern.
I enter the shop, "Lovely day, gentleman. What would you like to see?" A tall and lean lady asks me.
"That white dress over there."
"Would you like to buy accessories to compliment it?"
I smile, "Yes, everything."
It's been over an hour since her and that little brat entered the shop, not like I am waiting for her, it's just a mere observation.
Should I go in? Absolutely not, it's not like I will follow her everywhere.
I enter the shop, she smiles at her brother each time he comes out wearing another suit, gives a detailed review, each one that ends with, quote "Wow! You look so handsome." and proceeds to compare him with every American celebrity she knows.
"What are we even doing? You are acting weird Adrian." Aaron pops out of the dressing room, the two assistants giggling and complimenting him.
He just winks at them and tosses another pair of shirts he wears for them to catch.
He will buy each one of them and ofcourse I am paying. His fee for accompanying me.
I sigh and look at Malvina again. He comes over and plops down on the soft, next to me.
"Andrei, how do I look?" Andrei rolls his eyes and goes back to glaring at me, it has been for the past half-an-hour, since we entered the shop.
"Stop glaring at me Andrei, or I will assume you want to say something," I say without turning towards him.
"Nothing Sir, I am just observing a thoroughly whipped man. Noting their behavioural change and patterns." Aaron's laugh blooms in the space as he runs his hand through his hair.
"God! Andrei. You are too good. Now go back to being silent or you will fall victim to big bro's wrath." He removes his jacket and hands it to one of the assistants.
"The dress you bought earlier, is it for you? Cuz if yes, I am sure it won't fit." I glared at him."Look, they are leaving."
I stand up to leave, the ringing of my phone stops me in my tracks. I pull out my phone, the name 'Mr. Reed' appears on my screen, my mood sours.
"Speak." I pick the phone after the third ring.
"Adrian. Meet me in fifteen minutes." and the phone disconnects.
