 Altus looked around her eyes closed; her earspricked. "Hmm...Where are you...?" She caught a sent and felt something nearlytouch her fur, "Aha!" she wiped around and caught ahold of something. Itstruggled in her grip clawing and biting, she bit its tail, and it screamed inpain, "Why you little!" it bit her paws, "Argh!" she hissed. "That's it...I AMDONE WITH YOU!" She grabbed its head and shook it violently before throwing itacross the room. "A-Atlus....You...argh..." She knew it was unconscious as shebegan to see again, for he had blinded her during the match. "Nice jobphantom...You're getting stronger..." he slowly got up, "Heh....You're stilltoo strong for me..." suddenly a gong clashed, jerking her attention to theHigh rankers. "Atlus wins...Again...And because this is her third win, she hasto let someone else fight..." Announced the Cat at rank 7. Atlus knew none ofthe high names, only that they werepowerful... "With this winAtlus's rank increases to 4.45." Atlus walks out... "Hm....4.45 huh?" shesighed and climbed up to the roofless 2nd floor and watched the nextfight. "This next match is Zero versus Snake." Atlus's ears pricked she wouldlike to fight one of these cats eventually... The Gong clashed and the two catswere waiting, and suddenly Snake lunged at Zero but he swiftly dodged it andswung a paw at his back paws catching him off balance and sighed, "An attacklike that won't work on me Snake....You of all cats should know that..." Snakegot up slowly and flicked his tail, "I know that.... it's just a new move Iwanted to try on you..." snake Lunged again but this time he used Zero's paw tohis advantage and jumped off Landing on his throat. Blood spilledeverywhere.... and zero was under Snake breathing heavily Zero start coughingand coughed up more blood. Snake flung him against a wooden pole and Atlusheard a sickening crack. Suddenly the blood cleared up and Snake stoppedpanting and zero slowly rose the two cats shared a few words but Atlus couldn'thear what. The gong clashed. "The winner is Snake with a Killingblow...Advancing his rank to 6.85, One more winning match and he will take his place with the high rankers..." The gong clashed again. "Hmm...Dawn is approaching, the fights are over until tomorrow night..." Atlus sighed, leaping down she heard someone call her name. "Yes?" she answered, turning around to see who it was to her disbelief it was a high ranker... "A h-high ranker?!" he sat down, "Well my name is actually Frost flame but yes I am a high ranker..." Atlus sat down too "What could you possibly want with me?" Frost flame sighed, "I have seen you fight...You may have a lower rank, but you are the next to be a high ranker if you win any more fights...about....5 to be exact..." "5 fights?! That's hardly any!" Frost flame looked confused, "Why aren't you excited? You have so little time I would say about two days before you are a high ranker." Atlus sighed, "Well you would understand if you loved fighting..." Frost flame looked around, "Let me tell you a secret...don't tell anyone else but... The high rankers do fight, during the day while everyone is asleep... Ever notice how there is only 1 high ranker up at night while the rest are either asleep or watching but only until they fall asleep?" Atlus nods. "That is because they fight at dawn till dusk." "I see..." Atlus flicked her tail. "Well see you later..." Frost flame sighs. "Yeah...see you later..." Frost flame left and just as Atlus sat up a cat pinned her down. "ARGH! Who are you and what do you want?!" she hissed "Relax it's me Atlus." Atlus calmed down and turned over. "Oh, it's just you Zero...Don't pin me down like that next time..." he nods and lets her go she sits up and zero sat beside her, "Is something wrong?" she shook her head, "No I'm fine..." she laid down. "Well, if you say so.... just....be careful in your next fight, I know you were trying to have a little fun with Phantom, but I don't want to see you really get hurt..." he laid down too and started to groom her fur. "Yeah, ok sorry to worry you..." he smiled at her "I love you Atlus..." she smiled back, "I love you too..." "Hey....Zero?" he looked at her. "Yeah?" "When do you think I will be able to fight a high ranker like you?" "Hm... I don't know...It could be tomorrow night or whenever you become a high ranker..." Atlus nodded.
