Kim Taehyung was known for his ruthless demeanor in the boardroom. As the CEO of a successful tech company, he had built his empire through sheer determination and a no-nonsense attitude. He was feared and respected, but he was also deeply lonely. Love was a luxury he believed he couldn’t afford—not with the demands of his career and the cold, harsh world he navigated every day.
When he married Jeon Jungkook, it was an arrangement made by their families, one that Taehyung accepted with little thought. Jungkook was cute, innocent, and vibrant—a stark contrast to Taehyung’s icy personality. Taehyung had assumed that Jungkook would fit easily into his life as a decorative piece, something to maintain appearances, but he hadn’t anticipated the feelings that would arise from their closeness.
Jungkook was shy and reserved, a sweet soul who wore his heart on his sleeve. He was everything Taehyung wasn’t—warm, approachable, and endlessly patient. But no matter how kind and loving Jungkook was, Taehyung remained distant, unable to break through the walls he had built around his heart.
Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, but Taehyung still hadn’t touched Jungkook. Their nights were filled with silence, and Taehyung buried himself in work to avoid confronting the reality of their marriage. Jungkook endured it, patiently waiting for Taehyung to acknowledge him, to see him as more than just a duty.

One rainy evening, as the storm raged outside, Taehyung returned home later than usual. He was exhausted, both mentally and physically, but he paused when he entered their home. The living room was dimly lit, the soft glow of candles flickering gently, casting warm shadows across the walls.
Jungkook stood in the kitchen, preparing dinner. He wore a simple, yet beautiful, dress that flowed around him, accentuating his slender figure. The soft fabric swayed with each movement, and for a brief moment, Taehyung was captivated.
"Welcome home," Jungkook said softly, glancing over his shoulder with a bright smile. The light from the candles danced in his eyes, making them shine like stars.
Taehyung’s heart raced. He had always found Jungkook beautiful, but tonight, there was something about him that struck Taehyung deeply. The warmth in Jungkook’s voice, the gentle way he moved—it all made Taehyung feel something he hadn’t allowed himself to feel before.
"Did you wait for me?" Taehyung asked, trying to sound indifferent, but his voice came out softer than he intended.
Jungkook turned fully, his expression brightening. "I thought we could eat together. I made your favorite."
Taehyung’s chest tightened at the thoughtfulness in Jungkook’s actions. He wanted to tell him that he didn’t deserve such kindness, that he didn’t deserve Jungkook at all, but the words wouldn’t come.
Instead, he stepped into the kitchen, watching as Jungkook plated the food with care. "You didn’t have to do this," he said, his tone slightly sharper than he intended.
Jungkook’s smile faltered for a moment, but he quickly recovered, nodding. "I wanted to. It’s nice to have dinner together."
Taehyung sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration. He hated this—hated that he was being so rude to someone who only wanted to be close to him. "I don’t have time for this," he snapped, trying to push back the guilt rising within him.
Jungkook flinched, and for a moment, Taehyung’s heart dropped. Seeing the hurt in Jungkook’s eyes made him feel like the worst kind of monster.
"Jungkook…" Taehyung began, but the younger man turned away, his shoulders slumping slightly.
