Nothing has changed about Melrose High since the last time I was here. It was still full of fake stuck up rich kids with no respect for themselves. The most fake bitches of them all, Shannon and Jane start to walk towards me and Val as we go to auditorium for orientation. Shannon likes to think of herself as the queen of Melrose high. She walks around with her expensive blonde hair do all the way down to her suede pumps. Probably sucked off the whole football, soccer and lacrosse team to get to her level of popularity. And for Jane, she's not the smartest one. Brunette, toned body and rich but as rich as Shannon. She follows Shannon around like a puppy, and because of that, she's the little asshole she is today. It's sad to watch to be honest. She would probably be a better person if she didn't follow Shannon around.
"You guys haven't changed a bit, still ugly as fuck" Shannon says walking towards us. She flips a lock of hair over her shoulder and shoots a smile.
"Aww that so nice of you to say Shannon, but you changed for sure. Tell me, how'd you gain 10 pounds so easily?" I asked with the grin on my face. She didn't hesitate to glare me intensely with her eyes.
"What's the problem bitch? Can't take the heat?" Val asked added on to my comeback. Shannon and Jane walk up to Val and I ; standing there, not having one bit of fear.
"Watch your back bitches, it's our last year and we plan making it a living hell for the both of you," Jane, her lapdog, jumps when she realizes Shannon is out of words.
"Wow, I'm scared. Thanks for the threat, now go back to your seats with y'all poorly done eyeliner and push up bras " Val advised leaving them speechless while we walk away.
"I honestly can't stand those two. they have some damn nerve to come up in our faces like that" Val barked, glancing over her shoulder to give them a deadly glare. I nodded in agreement while trying to find somewhere for both of us to sit. I found seats somewhere in the middle aisle of the auditorium, and I tugged on Val's arm.
As we sat down I heard microphone turn on and I looked to see principal Greene standing in the center of the stage. He was wearing his normal attire; suited pants with a nicely press's button up shirt with a tie. He clears his throat, tugging on the collar of his shirt.
"Good Morning and Welcome back to a new year at Melrose high. It's great to see old and new faces. Coming back students and to new students, Melrose welcomes you in our warms"
His next few words were very "blah, blah, blah," and within 3 seconds my eyes glaze over in boredom. His speech was generically clichê, and I was uninterested. Dissatisfied, I followed the rest of the senior class, plugged my headphones in, and closed my eyes. I had learned by now that the freshmen were probably sucking in every word the Principal was saying, eyes bright with high hopes for high school. Unfortunately for me, and well, every high schooler in the goddamn world, that hope died out with the first homework assignment. I spent the next few minutes blanked out, completely drowned out in my music. After a while I felt a nudge on my arm and it was Val telling me to get up.
"That was a quick orientation" I said, rubbing my eyes. .
"No, you were just dozed off in another world for 30 minutes" Val corrected me with a smirk. 30 minutes?! It seemed like 5. I heard rustling behind me as the students got out of their seats, and Val and I did the same.
Melrose was big, and I'm sure the 3,000 seater auditorium was evidence enough. Despite the large population, I still manage to recognized everyone's face except the new kids. There's one that caught my eye while everyone filed out of the room.
He was new for sure. He looked too old and was too attractive to be a freshman. My eyes traced over his tall, slender finger, from his messy brown hair to his worn combat boots. The closer he was to the exit of the auditorium the better I could see him. His eyes were an enchanting green. His face structure was impeccable with a jawline that could through my soul any minute of the day. Perfection painted over his body which made it harder to look away from him. Probably feeling my eyes mesmerized by his beauty he looked to his right to spot me staring at him. I quickly looked away, hoping it was fast enough for him not to realize and continue to follow Val.
