Crew stepped onto the field, his gaze lingering on the cheer practice taking place, no Kayce.
A shadowy figure loomed beside him.
"Hey Isabella, did you finally wake up?"
The female outstretched her arms, brown hair falling behind her as she did so.
"Not exactly- ghosts don't exactly sleep..so.." The ghost wisped to Crew's side placing her hands on his shoulders as she did so, peeking around his shoulder before speaking.
"You checking out the cheerleaders? Oh wait-"
Isabella let out a surprised gasp before continuing, her words followed by a playful punch on the shoulder.
"Are you checking out Grace!?"
The ginger head swung in the ghost's direction. Eyebrows knitted together tightly as if trying to erase the question with his gaze.
"Unless you're not into girls, then in that case which guy are you-"
"Girls are fine. I- don't think I like guys..at least not that I know of."
The jock shook his head slightly.
"I mean...Grace is pretty, so is Kayce, something is up with Harris though."
Crew turned his attention over to the football field. The conversation was pointless and practice was dragging him in its direction.
Practice went on as usual, Crew dragged himself to his truck hopping in. His bag got discarded into the back seat, a problem for later him to deal with.
His eyes remained on the card for a notification on his phone.
Aiden's home.
The thought should have been exciting to the jock, after all his brother was returning from college, but Crew found a rising chill of dread wash over him as he leaned back against the driver's seat.
Aiden always seemed to know when something was bothering him, and considering his current agenda to figure out just what the fuck Kayce Harris was up to, Aiden prying to figure out what was bothering his dear little bro was the last thing Crew needed.
Crew eventually arrived home, parking in the driveway and just barely managed to drag himself up the steps.
"You could just not go inside."
Isabella's presence loomed over Crew but he simply shook his head.
"He's my brother...and it's not everyday he's back from college."
Isabella gave a shrug, rolling her eyes.
"Yeah...but he's gonna know something is up, do you plan to tell him about Harris?"
Crew didn't respond. Would he really tell Aiden what was going on?
The jock pulled the front door, stepping inside and he immediately attempted to vanish to his room unnoticed.
"CREW GET IN HERE!"
Crew stopped to a halt setting his bag aside.
"I got homework to do.."
"No actually he's got to go make sure his crush isn't a serial killer."
"Hi Isabella, not sure what you said but you do know I can see you right."
Isabella gave a shy wave over in the direction of Scarlett Rivers.
"She said hi mom, now I get that Aiden is coming but I seriously got homework that I need to get done."
"Actually, I'm already here. Kinda dope to know you're linked to a ghost bro."
Crew turned, even more dread seeming to consume him but another feeling of comfort seemed to be at odds with the dread stirring within him. Crew nudges Isabella who reveals herself with a slight wave. Aiden returned the wave with an upwards head nod.
"So I heard you got a boyfriend at college."
Scarlett's words created an open door for Crew to slip away as Aiden's attention was turned away from him.
"How exactly do you plan to figure out what's going on with Kayce?"It was a good question and one that still remained to be seen.
Crew ducked to his room grabbing his phone from the pocket of his jacket.
Hey Grace, was Kayce with u at practice?
No why?
I mean she showed up a little bit ago think she forgot her jacket or somethingCrew stared at the message on his phone before the screen went black as he pressed the button on the side.
He moved with purpose, a predator stalking its prey. His fingers made quick work of prying the laptop open.
What jacket was she wearing?
She's wearing an old looking denim one, why?
Crew are you ok?It was all the confirmation he needed.
Diesel Morrison, one quick google search and a look through a couple articles came up with a mix of Rockstar glamor and gruesome murders.
Crew's eyes narrowed at the sight of a recurring denim jacket.
I mean if he himself was linked to a ghost was it that far fetched that maybe Kayce was also?
"You got no proof"
"You a fan of this guy or something? If Kayce is linked to Diesel she could be in danger."
Isabella opened her mouth to speak but closed it after a moment.
Crew paid no attention to Isabella instead he was already up his mind set on what he need to do,
Confront Kayce.
