The cavern was filled with a heavy silence as the group gathered, the air thick with the remnants of battle. The dragon lay defeated, its massive form a grim reminder of the ordeal they had just faced. Arin looked around, her heart aching not only from the physical wounds but from the emotional toll the fight had taken on them all.

Lyria was the first to move, kneeling beside Thorne, who was propped against the wall, blood seeping through the bandage on his shoulder. "Hold still," she said gently, her hands glowing with healing energy as she worked to mend his wounds. "You pushed yourself too hard out there."

Thorne winced but nodded, appreciating her care. "Thanks, Lyria. I've had worse," he said, forcing a smile. But the weight of their earlier conflict lingered in the air, unspoken words hanging between them like a fragile thread.

As Lyria continued her work, Arin turned her gaze to Rethis, who was leaning against a rocky outcrop, his brow furrowed in thought. Did he realize the danger they were in? She could see the exhaustion in his eyes, the same weariness mirrored in her own heart.

"Rethis," she began, her voice tentative, "thank you for believing in me back there. I—I couldn't have done it without you." The admission felt heavy yet liberating, like a burden lifted off her chest.

He met her gaze, a warmth spreading across his features. "You were incredible, Arin. We all were." His eyes flickered with something deeper, and for a moment, she wondered if he felt it too—the unspoken connection that had formed in the heat of battle.

As Lyria finished healing Thorne, she straightened and looked at the two of them. "We can't just heal our bodies. We need to talk about what happened. We need to support each other emotionally too." Her voice was firm, leaving no room for argument.

Thorne nodded, his expression more serious than before. "I've been a jerk, Arin. I thought I was doing what was best for the group, but I see now how hard you've fought to keep us together. I respect that. I can honestly call you my Princess now."

Arin blinked in surprise, the confession cutting through the tension like a knife. "I didn't mean to come off as overbearing. I was just trying to lead us to victory," she admitted, her voice softer. "It's hard when you feel like everyone's counting on you."

"There's strength in vulnerability," Rethis interjected, stepping closer. "We all have our roles, but that doesn't mean we have to bear our burdens alone. We're stronger together."

Arin looked at Rethis, a newfound clarity beginning to settle within her. She had always seen him as a steadfast ally, but now, she realized there was more beneath the surface. The pride that had held her back began to crumble, replaced by a willingness to accept his support and, perhaps, to lean on him emotionally.

Just as she opened her mouth to speak, the heavy air shifted, and the reality of their situation crashed over her like a cold wave. Seric. The name sent a chill through her spine. They had defeated one enemy, but there were darker forces at play.

"What do we do next?" Thorne asked, his voice steady but laced with concern. "We can't let Seric get wind of our victory. He'll come for us."

Lyria looked down, her brows furrowing. "He won't stop. He's already looking for ways to undermine us. We need to move quickly."

Rethis stepped forward, determination etched on his face. "We can't let fear dictate our actions. We need to regroup and plan our next move. If Seric is as cunning as I suspect, we need to anticipate his next step."

Arin nodded, her resolve solidifying. "We need to protect our kingdom, no matter what it takes. We have to stop him."

As they began to strategize, a newfound bond started to weave among them. The shared experience of facing the dragon, of healing both physical and emotional wounds, had united them in a way that words couldn't capture. Each member of the group brought unique strengths, and they were beginning to realize the power of their combined efforts.
