A week had passed since Namjoon discovered that he had a son with Jimin. While they had been communicating for the sake of Yejun, Namjoon had no intention of speaking to Jimin beyond that. Today, however, they decided to meet at a nearby restaurant so Jimin could formally introduce father and son to each other.
Namjoon felt a whirlwind of emotions as he prepared to meet his son for the first time. It was a moment he had thought about for days, but nothing could have prepared him for the mix of anxiety and anticipation he felt now. He carefully chose his outfit, trying to make a good impression, and before heading out, he stopped by the kitchen for a quick drink of water. As he reached for a glass, he bumped into Yoongi, who was quietly brewing his morning coffee.
"Morning, hyung," Namjoon greeted the pale boy, surprised to see him up so early.
"Hey," Yoongi replied, sipping his coffee. "Where are you off to, dressed so nicely?"
"I'm going to meet Yejun today," Namjoon said, his voice calm but weighted with emotion.
"I see. So, how do you feel about meeting your son for the first time?" Yoongi asked, watching Namjoon carefully.
"To be honest, I'm both nervous and excited," Namjoon admitted, his voice betraying a mix of emotions.
Yoongi nodded, setting his coffee down on the counter. "That's understandable. It's a big moment," he said quietly, his usual calm demeanor offering a bit of reassurance.
Namjoon leaned against the counter, running a hand through his hair. "Yeah... I've thought about this for a while, but now that it's actually happening, I'm not sure what to expect."
"You'll figure it out," Yoongi said, giving Namjoon a rare smile. "Just be yourself. Yejun's already your son—you don't need to try too hard."
Namjoon chuckled softly, though the nerves were still there. "Thanks, hyung. I just hope I don't mess this up."
"You won't," Yoongi replied, his tone steady. "You're going to be fine."
Namjoon took a deep breath, feeling a little lighter. "I better get going. Wish me luck."
"Good luck," Yoongi said, raising his coffee cup in a small toast. "And Namjoon?"
"Yeah?"
"Don't overthink it. You've got this."
Namjoon smiled, nodding before grabbing his jacket and heading out the door. As he walked toward the restaurant, his heart raced, but Yoongi's words stayed with him. He just had to be himself.
On the other side, Jimin was getting Yejun ready for their outing. He knelt down to the little boy's level and said, "Today, we're going to meet someone special. He's your other dad." He deliberately left out the details, hoping to create a positive atmosphere for the meeting. Jimin wanted this moment to be filled with joy, believing that it could be a new beginning for their family.
Yejun's eyes widened with curiosity. "My other Appa? What's he like?"
Jimin smiled, brushing a strand of hair from Yejoon's forehead. "He's very nice and really excited to meet you. I think you'll like him a lot."
Yejun bounced on his toes, his excitement growing. "Can we play when we meet him?"
"Absolutely!" Jimin replied, his heart warming at the thought. "You can show him all your favorite games."
After getting Yejun dressed, Jimin took a moment to look at his son. Yejun's bright smile reminded him of the hope he felt when they first learned about Namjoon. He hoped this meeting would bring them all closer together.
