"Here drink this." Jack handed me a shot glass of something clear. I almost smiled. I took the shot and whatever it was it was bitter and burned my throat a little.

"What was that?" I felt a little tickle deep in my lungs and I coughed.

"Just something." He kept one hand behind his back.

"What's behind your back?" I asked. He looked around.

"I don't see anything." He joked.

"Turn around." I said. He did and whatever was behind him he quickly turned it with him so I couldn't get a peak. He turned back to me again, and had the same hand behind him. We were the only two in the dining room. He sat down in the chair he sat in earlier. Something about him looked so sophisticated. My mouth felt dry.

"Okay. You are eighteen. What is the one thing you want to do the most?" Jack asked.

"Drink. Smoke weed. Vandalize. Go streaking." I smiled at my own joke. He looked at me like I was an alien.

"Really?" he asked. He pulled a bottle out from behind him and I couldn't tell what was in it. It had no label and it was too tall for a bottle of vodka. I was almost too shocked to grab the bottle. I slid the shot glass over to him.

"Really. All but the streaking and smoking." I said.

"Okay. I can make it happen." he said. He took another shot glass off the top of the bottle. He filled them both. I took mine and we downed the shots at the same time. I choked on mine. I coughed roughly and he laughed. "You aren't really a drinker."

"Really?" I asked. I coughed again and reached over to grab the bottle.

"Woah, woah." He grabbed my hand. "One shot at a time." I slid the little cup over to him. We took another shot. I felt lightheaded. I slid the glass over to him again. This time it fell over. I laughed a little. He picked it up and filled it again. It spilled a little.

"I feel lightheaded." I said. He smiled and something about it reached into my heart and my body felt detached. I drank the shot slowly this time. I put the glass down and flinched as the door opened.

"I promise!" Luke said. His smile fell when he saw us. Someone was standing behind him, but I didn't care who it was.

"Oh, and piercings." I said. Jack just looked at me.

"What?" He laughed. I couldn't help but giggle.

"Um, I didn't realize you two were in here." Jack's mom stepped into the room. I stopped laughing when I saw her face. She looked mad. Luke just stood there.

"Yes." I said. "Um, you two want to join us?" I asked. Their mom walked over and took a seat on the other side of Jack. Luke slowly made his way into the room. He sat beside his mother. She stared at me. I widened my eyes and stared at her. Jack began laughing silently, and her face twitched as she fought not to smile. Luke didn't have that calm his mother did. He was smiling.

"Lucas, excuse us. Tell your father to reschedule the meeting until tomorrow night." she said. He stood up and pulled out his new phone and quickly left. "You two. It was always said you two would be trouble. Al Encorpe."

"Mom. Stop. We are just having a little fun. I mean, come on! He's eighteen!" Jack said. He poured another shot and slid it to her. She just looked at it. "You know you want to."

"I do." I gave him my shot glass. He filled it and I drank it. She put her fingers around the small cup. She sniffed it.

"You made it, didn't you?" she looked from Jack to me and back to him.
