"Are you trying to create gossip?" Charles asks Lando the next morning.
Everyone except Max V stayed over because they were too drunk to walk, and now that everyone is awake and able to check social media, the arguments have started.
Lando nurses his glass of milk. "It's nothing," he says. "I swear, nothing will come of it. Yes, the fans will speculate, but it was a welcome party! We're friends! Friends hang out and stargaze when drunk. It's normal!"
OJ drops their head on the counter and groans. "It's too early for this."
"Aren't you worried?" Charles asks them.
"Not really," OJ tells him with a shrug. They don't lift their head, but they tilt it to look at the man. "Lando made me block every gossip page so I wouldn't stress myself out into a panic attack. Posting us stargazing won't do much more than start rumours they can't confirm. Besides, you're in a relationship, so they can't start truthful rumours."
Charles cringes, and everyone picks it up.
"Wait," Carlos begins, "you're not with Alex anymore?"
OJ sushes everyone before someone else can speak. "We're not forcing anything out of him," they say. "If Charles wants to tell us, he will on his own time. Break ups are painful, no matter the circumstances, and he deserves his space."
"It's fine, OJ," Charles cuts in with a smile. "I need to say it." He takes a deep breath before he continues. "Yes, Alex and I aren't together anymore. We had a fight and we agreed to end our relationship to save our friendship, but I think that has broken up, too."
"Oh, mate," Daniel sighs, walking over to give his friend a hug. "It sucks, but we're here, yeah?"
"Definitely," Lando and Carlos agree at the same time.
Max smiles at the man. "I know we don't know each other well, but I can listen if you need to vent."
OJ stands up to give Charles a hug, as well. "I'll stargaze with you every night if you need me to. Or just if you want to."
"Thank you," Charles replies, his voice shaking a bit. "All of you. It's weird. Being back in Monaco without her in my house."
OJ and Lando share a look, after which Lando nods and says, "Then you can crash here anytime you find it too silent in your own home."
"Sleepover?" Max laughs. "I'm in."
"Hell yes!" OJ exclaims, pumping a fist in the air. "I haven't had one of those since I was a kid."
Carlos is grinning behind his glass of water. "Is this offer for all of us?"
Lando rolls his eyes. "If you want a sleepover with everyone from yesterday, then sure. The offer can be for everyone."
"Maybe we should tell Max he's invited, then," Daniel says, already grabbing his phone.
Lando grabs his. "I'll make a group chat, since, you know, I have everyone's number."
"Show off," Max F teases with a wide smile.
