Euijoo eyes widened.

The red-haired guy was looking straight back at him, his eyes as terrorising as ever.

"Uhmm, what are you doing? Can you let go please..." Euijoo asked, awkwardly, breaking eye contact.

"Sorry" The guy apologised, so soft it was almost impossible to hear over the noise the crowd made.

The guy slowly let go, his grip loosening, his fingers lifting up one by one.

As he let go, Euijoo was pushed further into the crowd, losing sight of the guy, even with that bright red hair of his.

-

Euijoo returned home, sweeping the leaves scattered across the corridor floor with a broom.

He could still feel the guy's hand on his waist, though it was long gone. The feeling lingered around, possibly from the shock he received.

Euijoo's keys jingled as he unlocked his home door. The door creaked open as Euijoo stepped in, then carefully closing the door behind him.

He walked into the living, tossing his keys onto the table next to the sofa. He looked to his right, where he mother laid, asleep on the dining table, her arms tucked under her head used as a pillow.

He slowly walked over to her, lightly tapping her shoulder, "Mom, wake up, you shouldn't sleep here...Let me take you to your room..."

No response.

"Mom? Are you awake...?" Euijoo's heart rate quickened, his breathing turning unstable.

No response.

Euijoo shook his mom's body. He knew she wasn't gone just yet, her body temperature was still warm.

He dialed.

"What's your emergency?" The person on the line answered.

"My mother isn't responding, she's lying on the table but she isn't moving, we're at xxx-xxxx-xxx"
Euijoo said calmly.

"We're sending an ambulance your way, it'll arrive in 3 minutes." Euijoo heaved a sigh of relief.

He checked the time.

6:43pm

"They should be arriving soon, she'll be safe..." Euijoo thought.

-

Sirens were heard throughout the neighborhood. Euijoo held his mother's hand throughout the ambulance ride to the hospital. He was praying hard for her to be safe, for her to be healthy, for her to regain consciousness.

"Mom, please don't go yet..." Euijoo said faintly, his eyes flooding with tears.

-

He sat outside the examination room, anxiously waiting for his mother's test results.

As the doctor set foot out the room, Euijoo sprung out of his seat immediately.

"Doctor! How is my mother? Is she doing alright? Will she regain consciousness? Is she healthy?" Euijoo bombarded the doctor with questions.

"Well, we will have to ward her and observe her first. You should go home first, you may come back tomorrow to fetch her home." The doctor replied.

Euijoo looked at the clock on the wall

11:24pm

He did not realise he had sat in the hospital for 5 hours.

-

At school, Euijoo was restless during lessons. All he could think about was his poor mother. His anxiety levels were through the roof, making him unable to focus in class.

He looked around, at the window, at the corridor, at the floor. Left and right, up and down, front and back. His head bolted in all directions, towards every sound he heard.

His teacher, Mr Sato, noticed Euijoo's unnatural behaviour.

"Euijoo, are you paying attention?" His teacher called out, his lesson coming to a halt.

Euijoo looked at Mr Sato, wide-eyed, unable to defend himself.

"Euijoo, if you refuse to concentrate during my lessons, I'll have to send you out the class. Stand outside with your arms up, knees bent."
Before Euijoo could reply, Mr Sato pointed towards the exit.

-

As students walked through the corridor, past Euijoo, they laughed and mocked him.

"Omg, isn't that the teacher's pet? Why is he being punished outside? HAHA!!" He was surrounded by comments from his peers.

Euijoo hung his head low from embarrassment, still thinking about his mother in the hospital.

As he looked at the floor, a pair of shoes stood in front of him. They were the new Air Jordans released a few days ago, this person standing in front of him must be filthy rich.

He looked up from curiosity.

"Ah! Sungho hyung!" Euijoo exclaimed, reliefed to see a familiar face.

"Shh, your class is still ongoing, your teach will come out if he hears you!!" Sungho said quietly, his finger to his lips, shushing Euijoo.

"Sorry..." Euijoo looked down again.

"What are you doing out here, getting punished? Aren't you a model student?" The senior asked.

"Well, I was a bit distracted today, because..... something happened, so I was told to stand outside." Euijoo said as he winced in pain from the tiredness of half squatting in the corridor.

"What happened?" Sungho queried, a worried look flashed across his face.

Euijoo hesitated for a moment, contemplating whether to tell his senior about his ongoing crisis. He did not want to burden Sungho with his problems, but he needed advice, especially from a trusted person.

"Well, my mom had been admitted into a hospital last night, I found her motionless when I got home yesterday. I'm very worried..." Euijoo said slowly.

"Oh no! You must be having a hard time focusing, why don't you tell your teacher?" Sungho was concerned for Euijoo.

"Eh....If things get more serious, then I'll tell Mr Sato." Euijoo replied.

"Well, do you need help with anything right now? I can visit your mother with you..." Sungho offered.

"Ah! No, it's ok!! She'll be released from the hospital today, if things go well!!" Euijoo said, with a small grin.

"Ahh, that's great! All the best!" Sungho said as he left for class, bidding his goodbyes to Euijoo.
