Cat Noir licked the choc-mint ice cream, rolling the sweet and icy flavours on his tongue.

    He'd long ago finished his homework, and transformed, leaping out his window for a break. His father had him on a full week of photoshoots, and extra Chinese lessons because it seemed as if his Chinese was "drastically failing". His father's words.

    Which wasn't true. His father was being dramatic, as usual. If his father could just send Hawkmoth a heated, cursed email, telling him to stuff it and retract his darned akumas, perhaps Adrien would have time to study.

    Cat could see exhaustion in Ladybug's skyblue eyes whenever she came out. From what he knew, she had a lot on her plate already, excluding being a superhero.

    And a good one at that, he smiled to himself.

    He bit into the sugared wafer cone. His father would get akumatised if he saw him now, stuffing his mouth with sugary perditions.

    "Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!"

    Cat Noir dropped the cone on the rooftop, pulling out his extendable staff and leaping out to the path of the scream.

    As he was in mid-air, his sharp eyes landed on a little girl, staring up a tree in horror.

    He dropped down to her.

    "Hey, there! What's going on?"

    "My cat's in the tree, Mr. Cat! He's just a baby! What if he falls and breaks his bones into little pieces?"

    Cat Noir broke into a broad smile.

    " I'm not sure that's possib-----"

    "But what if he dies!?!" The child clutched onto his leg tightly. Too tightly.

    "He can't. Cats are special guys. They always land on their feet."

    " BUT HE'S A BABY! ARE YOU DEAF!?!"

    Cat Noir closed his eyes." No---"

    The child promptly burst into tears.

    "Don't cry," Cat Noir panicked. "I'll bring your cat down if you let go of my leg."

    But she just wouldn't let go, crying wildly.

    "Hey, Kitty," came a voice from a heaven in Cat Noir's heart. "Having some trouble?"

    Ladybug smirked, her head cocked to the side, a hand resting on the yoyo on her waist.

    "Help, me, M'lady" he said. "If that cat dies, I'm going to be next!"
