The Kingdom of Xianle was once a joyous place, filled with nothing but lights, hope, parades and overall beauty.

It's rulers were kind and took care of their subjects and the common people, and never really acted like they were any higher in rank than those they ruled over. Only occasions they did was when they needed to get a point across or the situation demanded them to.

Otherwise in all ways the kingdom didn't really have rulers and just final decision makers.

The heir to the throne of Xianle was the crown prince Xie Lian.

He was a kind, gentle soul who thought more about the common people than any of his predecessors, with his only goal being to help them live happy fulfilling lives. Usually he would wear slightly flashy clothes with expensive jewellery that sounded like chimes or bells when he ran or trained. His hair was a dark chestnut colour, it was long and silky soft to the touch, and usually ended at his lower back when it was tied up with half of it hanging freely and the other half tied into a ponytail with a red and gold ribbon attached.

His eyes were a golden brown sort of colour that shone in the light and a few of the women even spoke of getting almost entranced by them, as pair the eyes to the soft smile the prince always wore then any women would be basically hypnotised, even a few men.

But with all this, unless it was for a special occasion or his parents made him then the prince usually just went around in simpler clothes that would always be clean and spotless, but would never stand out in a crowd, so most of the time he blended in so well that his guards ended up losing him on more than one occasion.

Eventually his guards were replaced with the 2 people who knew the prince the most.

They were Feng Xin, who was the son of the head guard, and then Mu Qing who was an assistant to the prince. Both were his best friends and they helped him get out of situations he didn't want to go to or be apart of so they were very helpful and probably knew the crown prince better than his parents.

The 3 of them would train together under the prince's teacher, as the man thought that having friends there to train and spar with would motivate them and help strengthen their bonds. It ended up working very well and the 3 became as thick as thieves, and their teacher couldn't be prouder.

In trainings all 3 of them mastered a weapon of some kind as all 3 could use swords to a master level by the time they were 15 and Mu Qing had taken to the bow and arrow, whilst Feng Xin took to a 2 bladed sword. The prince stuck with the single bladed swords, and definitely gained some skills in other weapons, but mainly just the basics.

Their teacher was a master swordsman, archer, dizi player. But now matter how strong any of them got they could never even lay a scratch on him, and what they all found both amazing and a bit insulting is that the blade their teacher fought with was always sheathed.

The man never once fought them with an unsheathed blade as he didn't want to accidentally hurt them, and he said it gave him a reminder that it was a training fight and not a real one.
