Backstory of the Sea Bride:

Over 200 years ago, in the early 19th century, Blackthorn Bay was a bustling seaside town known for its booming maritime trade. Among its most famous stories was that of Captain Elias Grey, a revered sea captain, and his beautiful bride-to-be, Isabella Ward. Isabella was the daughter of a wealthy merchant, and their wedding was to be the event of the decade. On the eve of their wedding, however, tragedy struck.

Captain Grey's ship, The Seraphine, was called out to sea unexpectedly on a dangerous, stormy night. Despite pleas from his bride to stay, Elias was bound by duty and set sail, promising to return by morning in time for their wedding. Isabella, heartbroken but hopeful, stood on the cliffs overlooking Blackthorn Bay, watching as The Seraphine disappeared into the fog.

The ship never returned.

Days passed, and word reached the town that The Seraphine had vanished without a trace. Some said the ship had been swallowed by the sea, while others whispered of something more sinister. Heartbroken, Isabella refused to believe that Elias was gone. Every night, she would walk the shore in her wedding dress, waiting for him to return, her veil trailing behind her in the mist.

One fateful night, Isabella herself vanished. Some say she walked into the sea, driven mad by grief. Others believe the sea took her as punishment for her refusal to move on. Whatever the truth, her body was never found. Legend has it that her spirit became bound to the waters of Blackthorn Bay, cursed to wander the shores in her wedding gown, forever waiting for her lost love to return.

Over the centuries, sightings of the "Sea Bride" became common among sailors and townsfolk alike. They spoke of a ghostly woman, her veil flowing like mist, appearing on the beach whenever a storm approached. She was always looking out to sea, her figure fading in and out of the fog, waiting for The Seraphine to return. Local superstitions grew, with warnings that those who saw the Sea Bride were marked for misfortune or, worse, were destined to join her in the depths of the ocean.

Now, in the 21st century, the legend of the Sea Bride is little more than a ghost story told to tourists. But with the recent appearance of a shipwreck off the coast—eerily similar to descriptions of The Seraphine—the town of Blackthorn Bay has begun to wonder if the legend is more than just a story. And if the Sea Bride still walks the shores, waiting for her love after all these centuries.
