DD stepped through the front door, her body aching from the long day. She was tired, but not just physically—emotionally, she felt drained. Her mind was swirling with the events of the past few weeks, but as soon as she saw Reyansh sitting on the couch, waiting for her, everything seemed to stop for a moment. He stood up as soon as he saw her, concern etched on his face.
Without a word, Reyansh walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into a soft hug. The warmth of his embrace surprised her, and for a moment, she let herself relax into him, feeling a sense of peace she hadn’t felt in a long time.
"You should eat something," he said softly, his voice gentle.
DD shook her head, stepping out of the hug. "I’m not hungry," she said, her voice quiet, almost distant. She moved to the couch and sat down, her hands clasped together in her lap.
Reyansh sat down beside her, the silence between them heavy but comfortable. After a few moments, he looked over at her, his voice barely above a whisper. "What made you like this, Divya?"
The question hit her harder than she expected. She knew what he meant—he wanted to understand why she was so closed off, why she had forced him into a marriage, why she had put his sister Esha at gunpoint that fateful day. She had never told him the full story. Until now.
She looked down at her hands, her voice trembling slightly as she spoke. "I know what I did to you was wrong. Forcing you to marry me, kidnapping Esha… it was all wrong. I was… I was lost. I didn’t know how to be any other way. I just want you to be mine."
Reyansh didn’t interrupt her, letting her continue at her own pace.
"My father… he wasn’t a good man," she began, her voice quieter now, as if she was confessing something she had buried deep inside her. "He used to torment me, hurt me… ever since I was born, he doubted that I was his daughter. He accused my mother of things she never did, and when she died giving birth to me, he blamed me for it. He tortured me every day for years, Reyansh. I learned to shut down, to stop feeling. I had to, or I wouldn’t have survived."
Her voice broke slightly, and she took a deep breath. "When he died, I thought I was free. But even after he was gone, his voice was still in my head. Telling me I wasn’t good enough, that no one would ever care for me. So I built walls. I became someone the world feared, so no one could ever hurt me again."
She looked up at Reyansh, her eyes filled with guilt. "I’m sorry, professor. For what I did to you and Esha. If you want to leave, I won’t stop you. You deserve better than this. Better than me."
To her surprise, Reyansh didn’t move. Instead, he reached out, cupping her face in his hands. Without saying a word, he leaned in and kissed her. It wasn’t just a kiss—it was a promise. A promise that he wasn’t going anywhere, that he understood her pain, and that he was willing to stay by her side no matter what. The kiss was passionate, filled with emotions they hadn’t spoken out loud.
Just as they pulled apart, DD’s phone rang. The sound shattered the moment, and she answered it reluctantly. Her face paled as she listened to the voice on the other end.
"It’s him," she whispered, her eyes wide with fear.
Reyansh frowned. "Who?"
"My father," DD said, her voice shaking. "He’s alive… and he has Esha. He wants everything I have, or he’ll kill her."
Reyansh’s eyes darkened with fury. "We need to stop him."
They quickly formed a plan, gathering DD’s team to confront her father. DD was determined not to let him win, not this time. They drove to an old, abandoned warehouse where her father had taken Esha. As soon as they arrived, DD saw Esha tied to a chair in the center of the room, her face pale but unhurt.
Her father stepped out of the shadows, a cruel smile on his face. "Ah, Divyanshi the great Witch," he sneered. "You thought you could escape me, but I’m back. And now, I’ll take everything from you, starting with her."
DD stood tall, her heart racing, but she wasn’t afraid anymore. "I’m not the little girl you used to torment," she said firmly. "I’m not Divyanshi anymore. I’m DD, and the world fears me."
Her father’s face twisted in anger, and he raised his gun, pointing it at DD. "You’ll never win," he spat, his finger tightening on the trigger.
But DD had come prepared. Her team surrounded the warehouse, and before her father could fire, they moved in, guns raised. DD moved quickly, disarming her father and knocking him to the ground. Her fists landed blow after blow, years of pent-up anger and pain pouring out of her. She wasn’t just fighting for herself—she was fighting for her mother, for the life she had lost, for the woman she had become.
Suddenly, as she was about to land the final punch, her father pulled out a hidden gun and fired. The bullet was aimed straight at her, but before it could hit, Reyansh jumped in front of her, taking the shot in his chest. He groaned in pain but remained standing, shielding her from harm. DD shot her father because he was about to shoot again. It was the end for him.
DD’s heart nearly stopped as she knelt beside him, her hands shaking as she touched his face. "Why did you do that?" she whispered, her voice trembling.
Reyansh smiled weakly. "I’d do anything to protect you, Divya."

Ten years later
Esha sat on the couch, telling her twin nephews a story. "You know, your mom and dad didn’t have the easiest start. They fought a lot, but in the end, love always wins."
The boys listened intently, their eyes wide as Esha described the love story of Reyansh and DD. Suddenly, the door burst open, and Reyansh and DD entered, bickering playfully.
"I can’t believe that woman called you handsome!" DD huffed, crossing her arms.
Reyansh rolled his eyes. "I told you, I ignored her! Why are you getting so upset? There is no need to pull out your gun."
DD smirked. "What would you do if a man flirted with me?"
Reyansh’s expression turned serious for a moment. "I’d blast his head off," he said with a grin.
Esha smiled as she watched them. Despite everything they had been through, they had found their happy ending. The twins ran up to their parents, hugging them tightly, and DD and Reyansh smiled down at them, their love stronger than ever.
