It was to no one's surprise that the Hyakuya Kingdom collapsed,however people were surprised it happened so soon.
~10 years ago~ Yuu was looking out the castle's window when he heard an annoying overly cheery voice.He was choosen to be a royal knight when he was just 10 .However ,Yuu had been training for 5 years at this point and he was still not even allowed in war.He was stuck being "the prince's babysitter"as the maids called him. "Yuu chan come here!"shouted the prince of Hyakuya,Mikaela. Mikaela was,as yuichiro used to think,a pain in the ass.So stupid and so pure it was pissing him off.Mika had no right to be this happy when everyone else was suffering.it was utterly ignorant. "What do you want Mika? It's really late at night.You should go back to your bed chambers before your parents find out."said Yuu like he couldn't care less. "I just..I wanted to see you yuu chan!" Cute..I MEAN GROSS,thought Yuu.He has a nice comfty bed and he doesn't want to sleep.While yuu would give anything to be able to close his eyes.But he couldn't.He had to be on lookout. "Well I don't.Goodbye!"said yuu and continued to patrol. "Wait!Yuu!I..I saw someone outside the window ...a black figure.Could you come by and.." "It was probably just a tree.Go back to-" "But.." "Just go back and stop bugging me Mika." Mika got quiet then started walking back to his room. "Goodnight yuu cha-" "Bye Mika"
~ Yuu continued his patrol like always until he got to Mika's parents' bedroom.He usually wasn't allowed in there but something felt..off.So he slowly opened the door.Oh no.no no no no...how?!,he said to himself.He was in shock.How did this happen.And then..he remembered.
Mika. Yuu ran through the hallways like his life depended on it.He just wanted Mika to be okay.He busted trough the door and saw Mika lying with a bloody arm pinned against the wall by a tall hooded figure. "LET HIM GO!"Screamed Yuu from the top of his lungs. The hooded figure looked right at him.Yuu frooze.Thats it.Im dead,he thought.But, just then Mika got up and started to walk towards the nearest window. "WHAT ARE YOU"the man was getting pissed off.
And just then Mika jumped. There was a loud thud. And then.
Silence. Yuu was horrified.Why was he feeling so broken over the death of someone he hated.He started to cry.The worst crime Mika had even committed was ignorance.He did not deserve death.And that's when he realized.Mika wasn't ignorant,he was caring and giving especially to him.He was always so nice to Yuu,who was always cold.Sure Mika was a noble,but he was still loving. He was loving to him. He loved yuu.
"Why are you just standing there boy?Are you scared of me?"the man said as he took of his hood. He had white hair, though he didn't look a day over 30.He had blood red eyes that looked lifeless,like he just ripped them off a dead body. "Well ... Aren't you gonna bow to the new king?" "New king..?"mumbled yuu. "I killed the whole hyakuya bloodline, therefore I am the new heir to the throne and you are my witness.You understand,little knight?" Yuu fell to the ground and started sobbing even more violently. "JUST KILL ME ALREADY" screamed Yuu. "Awww and why would I do that..You have to live.Train to become stronger.To get your revenge.Until that day comes you will be nothing but my little pest.Come here." Yuu hugged the man tight and would not let go.He killed Mika yet he was so nice to him.Yuu was to tired to think anymore.All he wanted was comfort and at that time the only comfort he could find was in this demon's arms. "So will you agree to serve me little knight?Serve me until you have grown strong enough to defeat the entire army of my kingdom?" Yuu mumbled something. "I can't hear you"
"Yes.. your majesty" ~10 years later~ Countless years have passed since then.After the new king was crowned he changed the name from Hyakuya to Sanguinem and began his quest to colonize as many countries as he could and build an empire.Every year there's was a new war and while he was sitting on his throne,in his castle,unbothered countless of his own people were losing their lives from the brutality and famine of war.Young men where being taken from their homes and forced to go to war from the age of 13.It was all inhuman. "Yuuuu"called the king.Yuu had been nothing but loyal to the king ever since then.It was either this or to die and we wasn't quite ready for that yet.He had to avenge Mika. "Yes your highness?" "My new fiancee is on her way to our kingdom but...she has to go through the forest and I don't want her to.. bump into any pests." "Pests?" "Have you heard of the vampires yuu?" The vampires.They weren't actual undead beings,but humans who were ambushing imports of Sanguinem,stealing their stock and giving it out to the poor.Their name comes from the fact that all of the robberies were happening at night.While a noble deed,it was ruining the kingdom's economy.Usually,they would not kill but last year they had murdered the king's wife,a deed that the king said makes the vampires "irredeemable".But yuu had killed way more people that just one.Does that make him a bad person?Yuu tried not to think about stuff like morals.Without morals you can do no wrong, however he was human.Empathy is a natural reaction that he couldn't control.And he hated it.He hated feeling like a monster.He still couldn't forgive himself for what happened back then.Even after all these years he still missed Mika.He was supposed to be on lookout yet he got the whole Hyakuya bloodline killed. "Did you hear me yuu?"asked the king. "Yes sir.I'll go straight away and make sure your future wife is safe my lord.." "And.. Yuu.... Can you tell me why did i find this in your room." The king pulled out a brooch.It was a lapis crystal surrounded by a golden crown.It used to belong to Mika,but Yuu took it to have something to remember him by. "..." He couldn't muster a word.Yuichiro knew he was done for. "I thought you were over him." "I..I am I swear!" "Then burn it.Show me all love you have for him is gone" "..." "Oh sweety don't be afraid..I am not going to force you to burn it if you don't want to" Yuu exhaled.Thank god the king was so understanding. "I can do it myself."said the king as he tossed it into the fireplace. Yuu immediately ran after it putting his hands into the fire ,not even caring about the pain.He found it a little charred however still in one piece.you gave it a quick kiss and shoved in his pocket while the king watched in disgust. "You disappoint me,Yuu.You just can't let go of the past.Now go.I don't want to see you anymore."
Yuu arrived at the future queen's location and he must agree,she was a beauty.Long blonde hair and purple eyes.She wasn't quite his type but he couldn't deny her charms. "So.. you're my escort..?"she said in disgust. Oh great.Another fancy noble.He thought. "Yes your future highness.This forest is quite dangerous for just a lady to pass on her own." "You don't have to call me that,you know.You can just...call be by my name.."said the girl. "Well...what is your name?" "...Are you serious"the girl looked even more pissed off."ARE YOU ACTUALLY FUCKING-" Just then the two heard a noise from a bush.The girl took a step back while Yuu was walking towards the bush with his sword out.He couldn't see really well,his armour faceplate limiting his vision ,yet he still managed to fight really well,way better than any other knight his age or even older. Just then, the person jumped at him from the bush and started to fight him.They fought for a while, until Yuu's headgear fell off and that's when both of them could see eachother's face properly.Yuu could see the blonde curls and blue eyes he so dearly missed, while the other could see the emerald eyes and black hair they so badly wanted back. "Mika.." "Yuu chan..." They dropped their weapons to the floor and just started at eachother in disbelief.They couldn't even move.And then, yuu felt his eyes water.Suddenly a pair of shaking arms embraced him.He quietly whispered: "I finally found you, yuu chan." Then Mika just looked into Yuu's piercing green eyes and yuu looked into his.And for once in his 25 years of living, Yuu finally felt at ease.
