3 weeks later...

Nancy stared at the letter, slack-jawed for what felt like minutes or possibly hours. She recognized the distinctive chicken scratch handwriting almost immediately.

'Remember me?'

A shiver ran down her spine and suddenly Nancy felt sick to her stomach. She couldn't fully comprehend the note. She thought she was safe.

Nancy hesitantly flipped open her phone. She hadn't spoken to her sister in some time, they were on opposite schedules, and in different time zones now— but she needed to tell someone. At least, someone who wouldn't freak out. Well, not freak out too much.

Her cell rang only twice before her twin answered the phone.

"Hey, Nance." A chipper voice answered.

"Hey." The woman started, pacing the room. Her phone in one hand, the almost-blank paper in the other. Irene quickly noticed her twin's silence.

"What's up? Is everything okay?"

"I- I don't know. I got another letter. The same person. The same writing, by the same person." Nancy confessed, her voice shaking ever so slightly.

Irene paused before putting the pieces together. "A?" She asked, a hint of concern tinging her voice.

Nancy nodded before remembering her sister couldn't see her through the small phone. "Yes."

She explained that the letters had stopped entirely since her move to Miami, which was about a month ago. And how she felt safe here— and with the Miami-Dade team. That could all be ruined now. Nancy had just finally found a sense of peace.

The letter didn't consist of any photos this time, just the chilling statement.

'Remember me?
—A.'

Nancy squinted at the paper, hoping to find some kind of hidden answer or explanation.

"It's probably just someone fucking around," Nancy mumbled, without much confidence. She looked down at her Chuck Taylors, doubting her own words. She knew her sister could hear it too.
