Rebecca was a good student. She excelled in math. Some of you either think this is wierd, or that you wish you could be her.

Anyway, Rebecca always was on time for her classes. Never missed a homework assignment. Had a good best friend. She always came home with a smile on her face.

But one day was different. On this day, she can home with a red face and a tear stained math book. She had been bullied at school for the first time.

A boy named Owen had mostly been the problem. He had picked on her friend. He had called her stupid. So Rebecca stepped in. She defended her friend. But Owen was waiting for her. He smiled as he cracked jokes about her being younger than everyone else, and how her Grandfather had died recently. His friends provided backup, pointing out her weak points. Smiling. Laughing. And no one came to help her. Her friend was stunned and on the floor crying, begging them to stop. Rebecca herself had backed up to the wall, her face in her hands. But Owen didn't stop there. He pulled a knife out of his pocket, and put it on the table in front of her. "Go ahead," He laughed. "Prove you can be brave. Like everyone else. Or just kill yourself. Whatever you prefer." He paused at the sound of footsteps in the hallway. He grabbed the knife and ran, just as the social studies teacher walked in. When she asked what happened, Rebecca and her friend could only cry. They were sent home early.
