"A crisp morning," I thought. Yawning at the crack of dawn as the birds fly by my window. I opened the drapes of my windows, and opened the window itself. I sighed softly into the everlasting breeze that seemed to blow through this town. "Y/N!" Dalin my personal maid, screeched into the void of my room.
"Yes?" I softly said, now aware of her presence. "It is time to get ready for the Van Dort's wedding rehearsal!" 'Good grief, how could I forget my dearest friend practice day!?.' "You need to look presentable, or at least make it on time to this rehearsal." I only gave her a curt nod in response.
As we finished getting ourselves prepared for the practice, I looked at the forest I always wondered in and out from time to time. 'Something today felt different and.. I'm living for it.' Traveling the now busy streets, I've noticed that people are really moving to piece this wedding together. Peering out the slightly frosted glass paved next to my seat, I saw my best friend Victor having a bit of trouble making his way to the rehearsal. I giggled remembering the time we spent together since our childhood.
Now he's really in for it, getting married can you imagine? 'Hmm I'm curious about my love in the future.' As I am adopted, and my parents happen to be good friends with the Van Dort's. Soon he'll be married, and I'm his third wheel.Everywhere he went in town, and the forest I was there. We always had a habit of going places in pairs. The children are to mature, and the adults are to grow. That's what Dalin always told me.'Victorious' is the nickname I'd given him. He had been knowledgeable as every man attempted to be, but I'm the smart one.
The 'unstoppable duet' we were. Now the bachelor in his wake is dead, and I the living is asleep waiting to be woken. I'm paving my own path then engraving my name. 'Y/N L/N'. In all honesty when I adjust my future all new opportunities rely upon the uncertainty of that option. I hadn't noticed it back then, but now they've appeared.
Before they'd almost never show up until least expected. Ready or not.. I am. Everyone has to fall deeper than they need to find themselves.

Gliding over beautiful, shimmering lakes of color, we find the colors make up the patterns on a butterfly's wing, drawn in miraculous detail on a large sketch pad. Victor, a handsome 19-year-old with a gentle, slightly dreaming quality, adds tiny finishing touches to the sketch. His Victorian-style room is filled with drawings and paintings of all sizes, mostly of butterflies. There is one prominent painting of Victor with a friendly-looking dog. The drawing is done, Victor lifts a glass bell jar. A butterfly escapes, flits around the room and out of the open window.
Following the butterfly into an overview of the town, the butterfly sent itself on its flight around the town to look along it. The streets are cobblestone. The architecture is cold
and severe. Hues are muted and grim: the butterfly is the only really colorful thing in view. Stiff-looking the townspeople walk along nodding very formally, and without warmth, when they pass each other.A church bell chimes the first of four strokes. The town crier strides into the square, and rings his big hand bell. Town crier shouts:"Four o'clock and all's well!". As the butterfly floats along a line of shops giving us the sight of the Green Grocer arranging fastidious little piles of withered onions.
Then the Watchmaker checks and rechecks the large clock that hangs in front of his shop, resetting the second hand until it's just so. Soon the Baker showed next, wearily adding another plain brown loaf to the pyramid that stands in his window. Each loaf is as dry and flavorless as the next. A Butcher whose arm rises and falls mechanically, filling the air with a constant chopping sound.
And finally the town's Seamstress, sits among bolts of cloth, all shades of gray. As the butterfly floats off, the entrance of a large stately house. The point of view is placed back at the home of Victor's family, the Van Dorts.
