Paul the head waiter looked at Victor as he gulped. "He came in with the dog." Victor shivered at Mrs. Plum, an angry figure. I'm afraid he's mine. Well, it was... Scraps was my dog when I
was a boy. " Mrs. Plum waved her spoon at him." Keep him out of my kitchen! Who knows where he's been." She turns back through the kitchen door, maggots and flies swarm over her bluish-gray flesh. The little dog jumps around in Victor's lap, wagging his tail and barking cheerfully. The Bride looks over at Victor's dog and smiles." What a cutie." Victor grins at Scraps having remembered some good times. " You should have seen him with fur." Victor pets the skeleton dog fondly." Mother never approved of Scraps
jumping up like this." Scraps jumped on Y/N's lap, happy to see her once again. Y/N had a small smile, but that faltered."Then again, she never
approved of anything really." The Bride looked over at her new wife and husband, with a hope written all over her face." Do you think she would have approved of me?" Victor shakes his head a little, and Y/N giggled at the thought."You're lucky you'll never have to meet her."Victor suddenly has an inspiration, false brightness." Well, actually ... now that you mention it ... I think she would. Yes. I do believe she would. In fact, since we're, you know, m ... married ... you should definitely
meet her. And my father too. You- .I should meet both my parents!" Victor waits nervously for her reaction.
Slowly, a big smile comes over Corpse Bride's face." That's a fantastic idea! Let's go find them. Where are they buried?" Y/N looked at Victor surprised, and now suspicious of his new found confidence.'Good grief! Now I have to keep a sharper eye on him.' Victor started to get nervous about his plan but tried to remain calm." Oh, there is one slight problem ..." The bride had confusion written all over her face.
" What is it?" Victor looked her in the eyes." They're not from around here."
The Bride was getting concerned for Victor. "Where are they?" Victor points toward the ceiling. The Bride gasped at her epiphany." They're still alive?" Victor frowned on the outside, but smiled within." I'm afraid so." The Bride now feels internally crushed." That is a problem."

At the VanDort's house Mayhew sadly sits on the carriage, sneezing, coughing in the pouring rain. Inside the home rain hammers on the windows. Nell whimpers into a big
handkerchief." They're the best family for miles and we were going to marry them. Their manners and
breeding - were going to be our
manners and breeding! They're
related to a Duke. A Duke!" William paces around the room. "And we've lost a son, of course." Nell rolls her eyes, being dismissive towards the situation." Oh yes. That too." William sighs. "But we haven't lost all hope."
Nell looks at him, now curious." How so?" William cleared his throat enough to speak." The Everglots agreed to have their daughter marry our son. Nell gets impatient and slams a foot down." Yes, I recall!" William walked over to Nell looking her in the eyes with an idea." But we never specified which son."Nell looks back at him, perplexed. 'Has he lost his mind?' Nell is clearly still confused and concerned with her husband's explanation." We only have one son!"
William smirked at her."Or do we?"
Nell , now wide pressed head to head. " We do!" With a wait-one-moment finger, William leaves the room. He returns a beat later, holding a broom dressed in a
dinner jacket, complete with a top hat perched on the straw." May I introduce Reginald Van Dort!" Nell stands from her chair."He's a broom!"
William, clearly hurt from his wife's words." He's tidy!" Nell shakes her head in dissatisfaction." He's flammable!"William turns to his wife with a new statement. "And Victor isn't? Dear wife, with the proper flame, we all burn to
cinders." Nell is flustered with worry.
"And we will burn to the cinders if we don't find Victor! Ooooh!"
She storms out of the room. William turns to the broom." Your mother's very fragile."

{Victoria's Pov}

Victoria is alone in her sewing room. She is sewing her quilt -- it now
covers an entire armchair and is looking slightly more unhinged. She seems sadder and lonelier than ever.
Finally, she stands up and throws on a heavy shawl. great effort, she pushes up the window and leans on the sill, looking out into the rainy night.

In the Elder's study in the land of the dead, the study is stacked ceiling to floor with crumbling books, scrolls, charts and strange, medieval, scientific instruments. Rickety shelves bend under the weight of mysterious jars and boxes. Crows perch in the rafters. The whole place is frosted with bird droppings, and the dust of untold centuries. Leonardo Da Vinci meets Sanford and Son. Elder Gutknecht is an ancient, gnarled skeleton, as bent and twisted as a tree root. He wears a scholarly cap and
wire-rimmed glasses. Y/N, Victor, and Corpse Bride plead with him as he wanders between the stacks, removing something from one pile and carefully placing it on another. The Corpse Bride pleads with the older gentleman.''...please, Elder Gutknecht, surely there must be something you can do?" The Elder side eyed her then continued with his work." Why go up when you can stay down here? People are dying to get in." Y/N, Victor, and Corpse Bride exchange a look. Victor takes the chance to look at the Elder." It's very important that she meets my family. Just a quick hello and we'll be right back." Y/N looks at him, and shakes her head unnoticeably.' So this is what he was up to..' The Bride looks happily at Y/N then at Victor and holds both of their hands. "I'm so glad you thought of this, and we can meet Y/N's parents to!" A twinge of guilt comes across Victor's face. Elder Gutknecht rubs his head in thought, causing a shower of dust to drift off him. Suddenly, inspiration!" I have it! A Ukrainian haunting spell!" Y/n and Victor looked at each other confused.''A what?" The Bride glistened with joy of the new discovery." Of course! Elder Gutknecht shuffles to a stepladder affixed to his bookshelf. Corpse Bride, Y/N, and Victor watch as he hoists himself up each step, knocking books off the shelf as he goes. At the top of the ladder he struggles to reach for a
a particularly large book. Victor hastily reaches the book." Allow me, sir."
Victor retrieves the book and drops it on Elder Gutknecht's desk. Elder Gutknecht climbs down from
ladder." It's just the thing for these quick trips. None of the fuss of corporate travel." Y/N curiously looks at the Elder as he flips the pages." Such a thing is possible?"Elder Gutknecht pushed up his glasses. " Certainly. But not needed here. Now, let's see..."He flips through the pages. Corpse Bride, Y/N, and Victor lean closer, slightly touching one another. They are so intent on the book they don't notice. Elder Gutknecht blows on the page." It certainly is dusty."
What Gutknecht doesn't realize is that most of the dust comes from him. "Ahh! Here. And we have everything we need."
