A few weeks earlier:The castle exudes a perpetual tranquility. The pianist weaves a delicate romantic melody for my lover and me. In such moments, I momentarily relinquish my responsibilities, expectations, and most importantly, administrative tasks. If given the choice, I would rather be ensconced in my library, where I possess an extensive knowledge of various multiversal phenomena. While others may perceive me as omniscient, the truth is that there is an infinite expanse of knowledge awaiting my exploration. Without such knowledge, I am uncertain of my purpose.
However, in this present instant, I am fully present, accompanied by the embodiment of everyone's dream. Initially, it was challenging to comprehend that an individual like him would be drawn to someone like me.
I possess pale blue skin, an imposing height of 7 feet, and a slender physique. My silver hair cascades behind me as I traverse the room, and my mesmerizing blue eyes hold a profound allure. In all honesty, I believe that my eyes are the sole attribute that sets me apart.
Vex approached me, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "You know, my dear, If I didn't know better, I would mistake you for attempting to impress me with this extravagant feast," he whispered, emphasizing the word extravagant.
Vex Magsmann, the esteemed King of the Golden Grove, exudes an athletic physique. His golden blonde hair is adorned with a naturally red lips, and his captivating violet eyes hold an enigmatic depth.
A shiver ran down my spine as he spoke. "Oh, Vex, I must admit that I sought to create a moment of respite amidst the weight of our responsibilities. It is imperative that we find joy in the simple pleasures of life."
At that, he reclined in his seat and fixed his gaze upon me, causing a delicate blue blush to adorn my cheeks. "Of course, you require this more than I do," he remarked, pausing for dramatic effect. I instinctively placed my hand upon his on the table. "Darling, I am as butter in your hands. You are aware of how easily I can be melted by your affections."
"Are you truly so? Or are you merely repeating the same sentiments?" I teased, raising an eyebrow.
His already elongated smile deepened, revealing an alluring yet potentially dangerous aura.
"This is a promise I shall never forget the cherished value you hold in my heart," he declared, presenting the most exquisite rose. Perhaps the rose's beauty stems from its provenance from him.
"You consistently possess the ability to brighten my day, Vex," I remarked, his eyes never leaving mine as I delicately sniffed the rose. I placed it upon my chest, where my pendant rests. His gaze momentarily darkened, or perhaps I am merely perceiving things.
We feasted and sat together in the garden until the sun descended, savoring each other's company.
As the final rays of sunlight vanished beyond the horizon, the stars emerged into view. Vex and I shared a tender kiss, and I watched as he departed from my garden.Within the heart of the royal castle of Skylaria, where the walls were adorned with vibrant tapestries that chronicled the tales of yore, my diminutive tree fairy, Fable, traversed the halls with an air of intrigue. Gold dust emanated from her wake, reflecting the ethereal glow of the enchanted lanterns that lined the corridor. Fable was renowned for her inquisitive nature, perpetually seeking answers to the many questions that danced in her mind like flickering fireflies in the twilight. This is likely the reason for her exceptional intellect, which is why she has been selected as my chosen fairy.
She floated before me with a twinkle in her eye, conveying her numerous inquiries.
"How did your date transpire, Malady?" she inquired, attempting to suppress her excitement. I felt a blush rise to my cheeks. "It was simply wonderful," I replied with a smile. She reciprocated my smile, but it soon faded. "Is he as deplorable as everyone has claimed?" Her concern was evident. I have been in a relationship with Vex for some time now, yet my fairy has yet to meet him. However, to my astonishment, he has been nothing short of exemplary. "He is perfect." I delicately sniffed the rose once more. Fable's smile returned. "Your bath is prepared, Malady," she informed me.I entered the bath, reclining and settling in. The aroma of lavender permeated the air, a scent that holds a special place in my heart. Jasmine tea and my current literary read lay beside me. I found myself profoundly grateful for my little helper.
The memory of our encounter is vivid, as if it occurred yesterday. On that day, I sought a personal fairy, these special fairies are an extension of their masters, dedicated to ensuring their happiness and well-being. All royalty possesses their own unique fairies, and I believed mine shared my aspirations for a harmonious relationship.
Fable excelled in every challenge that came her way. Her abilities were remarkable. She possessed the extraordinary power to cultivate an entire garden within a single day, capable of planting seeds whose seedlings could serve as spies. Additionally, she could create clones of herself or others. Furthermore, her insatiable thirst for knowledge mirrored my own.
These recollections evoke a profound emotional response within me. I instinctively reached for my pendant, but to my dismay, it was nowhere to be found. Panic surged through me, and I impulsively dove into the bathtub, frantically searching my neck. I am certain that a heart attack is imminent.
In an attempt to regain composure and retrace my steps, I realized that I had spent the entire day in Vex's company. Vex. Please do not tell me. Anger ignited within me, manifesting in the form of physical manifestation. The bathwater began to boil uncontrollably. I was unable to calm myself. This is not my true self. I do not harbor hatred nor do I condone violence. However, this intense feeling was palpable. Betrayal.
"Fable!" I exclaimed, my voice rising above my intended level. Little Fable burst through the bathroom doors, momentarily taken aback by the scene unfolding before her. The water erupted into a violent boil, steam filled the room, and the candles surrounding me cast their flames long and strong. She had never witnessed me in this state before, nor had I. My blue eyes glowed in the mist of the steam.
"Call my daughter," I uttered in a low, growling voice.
