ANGELINA HADN'T BEEN BACK AT THE CLUB FOR LONG, when that uneasy feeling started creeping up her spine again.

The lights flashed in time with the heavy bass, dancers spun effortlessly on poles, and patrons watched with hungry eyes.

But she felt distant from it all.

Tonight, she wasn't feeling herself. Even though her every movement was precise, deliberate, but her mind was elsewhere—focused on one thing.

The masked man.

She hadn't seen him since that night in the VIP lounge, but she could feel him—his presence lingering in the air like a cold breeze brushing against her skin.

Every time she thought she spotted him in the crowd, the figure vanished into shadows. It was maddening, this sense of being watched, and hunted, without ever truly seeing him.

Her shift dragged on longer than usual, but eventually, the night came to an end.

Angelina, exhausted but too alert to feel it, grabbed her jacket and headed toward the backroom to change. The dim lights of the club barely illuminated the narrow hallway, the faint hum of music still vibrating through the walls.

She moved quietly, her stilettos clicking softly against the floor, the sound muffled in the silence that filled the space.

Once inside, she dropped her bag on the small bench and exhaled, letting the weight of the night settle on her shoulders. The dressing room was cluttered, as always, with costumes and makeup scattered across the counters. It smelled faintly of expensive perfume and cigarette smoke, a scent she had become too accustomed to.
