"I'm really sorry about yesterday." Jackson apologizes for the fourth time today.
"I told you, it's fine." I close my locker. "Don't worry about it."
"Yeah, but I feel bad."
"Don't." I smile. "I'm okay, I promise."
"You sure?"
"Positive."
I see Ross getting his stuff out of his locker across the hall. I haven't talked to him since the party, and at the moment I don't know how to feel about him. One minute he's a total dick and the next he's sweet as can be. He's really throwing me off.
"So what's up with you two?" Jackson follows my gaze to Ross. "what did you guys do the other night?"
"Nothing." I shake my head, turning my attention back to Jackson. "He just drove me home from the party, nothing else happened."
"So what are you two?"
"Uh, I mean I guess we're friends."
He raises his eyebrows. "With benefits?"
"No, not with benefits."
"Do you like him?"
"I don't know, I mean before the party I hated him, and now-"
"And now you have feelings for him."
"What? No. And even if I did, which I don't, I wouldn't want to date him."
"And why is that?" He asks, and I look at him as if he's the most oblivious person in the world.
"Because he screws around with every girl and I don't intend on being one of them."
"True."
It's silent for a moment, before Jackson's eyes widen.
"What is it?"
"I have an idea."
"Oh god."
"No, no, no. Listen, so Ross is always going from girl to girl, right?"
I nod. "Right."
"Well why don't we give him a taste of his own medicine? Next time he flirts with you, don't turn him down. Lead him on like he does with every girl. Develop a relationship with him, and after a while "cheat" on him and move on to another guy. Show him how it feels."
I look past Jackson, making eye contact with Ross. He smirks and winks at me, before walking to class.
"Okay, I'll do it."
-
"So," I tap my pencil on my desk. "Have you thought of any ideas for our project?"
"Yeah, I was thinking maybe we could..or we maybe could.." Ross shakes his head. "Yeah I got nothing."
"Me neither. When is this project due?"
"I don't know. We'll think of something."
"Yeah, eventually."
There's an awkward silence between us, and I know it's because of what happened at the party. I pretty much broke down in front of Ross, so freaking embarrassing.
"Did our kiss mean anything to you?" Ross blurts out, and I can tell he didn't mean to say that because as soon as the words came out of his mouth his eyes widened.
Before saying what I would honestly say, 'ew of course not', I remember the plan Jackson and I came up with earlier. "You wanna know the truth? It kinda did mean something."
"Really?"
"Really."
"So if I asked you to come over to my house tonight, you'd say yes?"
The bell rings and people began filing out the classroom, but Ross and I remain seated. "Yes, and I'd tell you to pick me up at six."
"Alright." He says, standing up. "I'll see you then."
"See ya." Ross then walks out of the room, and I can't help but chuckle at the fact that he's actually falling for this.
"So," Jackson decides to pop up behind me like a ninja and scare the living shit out of me. "Did you do it?"
"Oh my god, Jackson you can't do that!"
He laughs as I punch him in the shoulder. "Come on, it was funny."
"Yeah, yeah. And to answer your question, yes. I did do it. Ross and I have plans for tonight.
"Yes!" He high fives me. "Operation get player back is in motion."
Authors Note;
I'm sorry for the short chapter, this was kinda just a filler chapter. The next chapter will be longer and more interesting.
