I felt him look at me. I tried ignoring him and looking a the window. You could say i am a bit anti social. The rain made ripples in the passing puddles. this storm isnt letting up, hope it doesn't get worse. I heard a cough to my right. I looked at the man questioningly. "I don't believe we have been properly introduced, my name's Arthur Kirkland" he held a hand out to me."yours?" I put my hand into his hand. giving it a gental yet firm shake. "Abigail Ald but you can call me Abbie"

He smiled slightly. "so Abbie why were you out in the rain, without and umbrella and alone?" I looked out the window in thought. "um...im not even sure myself " I must have sounded really stupid right now. "I just felt like going on a walk through town i guess"  he hummed showing he understood. "well...thats a little odd." I nodded in agreement. "but you should really be more careful, you could catch a cold" once again i was surprised by his concern. I laughed. "yeah, not the best idea I've ever had."  He laughed along with me.

"so" I began. "so" he continued. "why did you have an extra umbrella?" I asked. still curious about it. "a childs one at that" a light pink spread on his cheeks  "I dont have a kid if thats what your thinking" I laughed a little. "thats good i guess" he started babbling. "well its not like I dont like kids, I'de like to have kids one day " I layed my chin on my hand and watched him. I have to say, this is pretty funny. "Oh god im babbling"He said stopping.I laughed long and hard after he said that. Staring at me, he blushed from embarrassment.

"that was hilarious" I gasped out. "why are you so nervous?" smiling slightly he said, " actually, im not really sure" we laughed together. Arthur continued talking still chuckling slightly "I used to carry that umbrella around for my little brother, hes grown up now i guess its a force of habit" I nodded in understanding. The bus slowly rolled to a stop.

"well this is my stop" I said Streching a little as I cracked my back. He stood up with me. "Really? how peculiar. This happens to also be my stop" I looked at him eyebrows raised in slight shock. "do you happen to live in an apartment building down Pitton streat?" He nodded his head. I stepped in the aisle and started walking down "Me too!" We stepped back into the rain. Arthur handed me his little brothers umbrella as i opened it, sheilding myself from the rain. "how long have you been living at the apartment building?" I asked him. He was thoughtful for a moment before answering me. "I've been living there for about a week now" My steps faltered a little bit. "a whole week?!" I said a little shocked as I glanced at him. "Why havn't i seen you?" He once again got that look on his face. "I would think its because, i was still unpacking." I nodded my head. Looking at the dark clouds, i sighed.

We walked in silence. When we got to the front doors to the apartments lobby, he opened the doors fo me standing aside, like a gentleman. "after you" Arthur said making a motion for me to go inside. "thank you Arthur" I mumbled, a little embarrassed , closing the umbrella and walking inside. He was right behind me. We both moved to the elevator. Once inside we both reached out to push the same button. We were on the same floor now too?! Now i really feel bad. How could i have not noticed him?

"I guess we're on the same floor now too" I said smiling lightly. "guess so" he said, his english accent was very noticable, even with just those two words. I gave him back his umbrella in the small moment of silence with a mumbled "here you go" He took it and held it with his other umbrella"so what are you doing in London?" he asked. "I can tell your not from here with your american accent" I nodded." Im from Michigan in America, I moved to England a couple months ago" he nodded. "interesting" I laughed a little "If you say so."

we walked down the hall. I stopped in front of my door. I turned around and saw Arthur pulling the key out to his apartment, which happened to be directly in front of mine. "you lived right across from me this whole time?!" he jumped a little surprised. "I could say the same for you" he said a still a little shocked. "now i feel really bad for not noticing you" I groaned. He smiled at me. "don't be, as i said i have been unpacking"

I sighed and reached in my pants pocket looking for my key. Did i leave it inside?! I groaned. Why must I be so stupid?! I wipped out my phone which was slightly damp and texted Clarissa, the girl i roomed with. I leaned against my door watching Arthur fumble with his door.

My phone finally buzzed. Arthur looked over his shoulder at me. seeing me now sitting on the ground with my ,junk phone. "do you not have your key?" He asked looking down at me. I nodded "apparently my roomie, who is currently on a date with her boyfriend has the spare so im locked out" I sighed looked at the white ceiling. "well would you like to come inside for some tea and scones?" I smiled at him "you dont have too" he smiled back offering his hand to me. "oh, but i insist" I laughed and took his hand, letting him help me up as we both walked inside his apartment.
