Eurydice and Jasper have known each other all of their lives.. well of course because they're twins. They'd done almost everything together. They were inseparable. Then came along Henry Hart. Jasper had met him on the first day of kindergarten. Henry was the only boy willing to play with Jasper during recess. Eurydice met Henry through Jasper after Jasper had invited Henry to their 6th birthday party in first grade. They had gotten along pretty quickly and by the end of the night, Jasper, Henry, and Eurydice were an inseparable trio. Later on, in 4th grade, Eurydice had met Charolette Page, one of the most intelligent girls in her grade. Eurydice had sat next to Charolette at lunch after everyone in their class had gotten mad because Charlotte got the highest grade on their math test. Since that day, Eurydice and Charolette were like sisters. Which brings them to today.Eurydice sat in the Hart's household, "studying" for the algebra test they were to take the following day. Jasper had been rambling on about Captain Man, Swellview's famous superhero.
Henry was sitting next to Eurydice while she had her head on his shoulder. "What about Captain Man?" Henry had asked Jasper, looking away from his screen. He had been looking for possible jobs for him and Eurydice. They really wanted money.
"Did you see what he did yesterday?" Jasper excitedly asked the boy.
"Can we focus on algebra?" Charlotte interrupted, trying to make sure her and her friends were prepared for the test.
"With all due respect Char, these boys couldn't care less about algebra. Heck, I couldn't care less about it," Eurydice said while sitting up and fixing her shirt. "All they care about is Captain Man and the air that he breathes."
Jasper and Henry went on a rambling spree about Captain Man's recent save in the city, admiring the hero and his work. They were soon interrupted yet again by Charolette. Eurydice found herself falling asleep on the couch, letting the others talk about whatever. After about 5 minutes or so, she abruptly woke up due to Piper screaming about how she's not ok.. again.
"Dang it! All these jobs say we have to have skills," Henry exclaimed while throwing up his arms.
" You guys have skills," Jasper claimed, trying to cheer Henry up. Eurydice had made her way to the kitchen, sitting in the chair next to Henry's.
"Name one," Henry said, waiting for an answer from the boy.
"You guys are great dancers," Jasper suggested.
"Jasp... we've never even taken a dance class. what makes you think we're good dancers?" Eurydice asked while giving her twin a questioning look.
"You guys could take some lessons," Jasper said, giving up on the stupid suggestion.
Charolette took over the lab top, searching for some jobs while Eurydice and Henry stood up.
"Oh my gosh," Henry said after some realization, "We're not good at anything."
"Woah woah woah woah woah. Don't bring me into your averageness. I am very good with science and inventing. Why do you think my science fair project won each year in elementary school?" Eurydice said, offended by Henry's statement.
"I'm just a big pile of avarage," Henry sadly exclaimed.
"Okay, here's a job," Charolette said while turning the lab top to the two teens.
"Oo! A store called.. 'Junk-N-Stuff'. Needs part time helpers for various duties," Eurydice read out to the group, scrolling through its description.
Jasper chuckles a little bit and lets out, "Doodies," causing the group to turn to him and give him a look.
"Anyways.. it says no special skills necessary. Sounds perfect for you Henry," Eurydice said while turning to the boy, giving him a sarcastic smile.
"You're right! We have to get that job!" Henry exclaimed, not getting the sarcasm the girl was letting on. He dragged the girl to the door before letting go of her arm and grabbing the bowl of pinecones. "You get the pinecones," he quickly said before running back to the girl, grabbing her, and sprinting out the house.
Long story short, Henry and Eurydice got the job, ended up being Captain Man's side kicks, fighting crime, yata yata. Charolette was the first to find out, then after a while, Jasper found out, too. It was very hard for Eurydice to keep this secret from Jasper, as they usually told eachother everything, but she couldn't risk losing her job. Now this is when the real story begins...
