Christmas Love

From the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of my mom chatting with the band and then moving over to the DJ booth behind the skating rink. There was this mischievous look in her eyes that I knew too well. The live band started to fade out, replaced by the opening chords of a song that was all too familiar... my song. "Christmas Eve."

I froze for a second, and Emma turned to me, her smile widening in recognition. Of course, she remembered it. Couples around the rink were starting to pair up, moving closer, swaying to the romantic, slow rhythm of the song. My heart pounded in my chest, a mix of nerves and excitement. I glanced at my mom, and there she was—standing by the railing, giving me a playful wink before stepping back to let this moment unfold.

I skated up to Emma, my heart in my throat. "Will you dance with me?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. For a second, I wasn't sure she'd say yes. But then she nodded, her smile softening as she said, "Yes."

We took each other's hands, slow and careful at first, like we were afraid to break whatever spell had just been cast. The music wrapped around us, guiding our movements as we glided across the ice together. The lights above the rink sparkled, shifting into this beautiful purple hue, casting a dreamlike glow over everything. It felt like the world had shrunk down to just the two of us, floating through the music, the snow, and the moment.

As we danced, I couldn't take my eyes off her. Every move she made, every laugh, every brush of her fingers against mine—it was like something out of a dream. Something I never wanted to end.

I pulled her closer, feeling her body relax against mine as we moved together, slow and steady. Her head rested gently on my shoulder, her breathing soft and even. The world around us blurred into the background, the music carrying us forward. My hand found its way to her waist, holding her tighter, not wanting to let go.

The chorus began, and without even thinking, I leaned into her ear and started to sing—softly, almost like it wasn't intentional. The words just slipped out, flowing with the melody, my voice blending with the song in the air.

"Be my date this Christmas Eve
Be my holiday, my dream
Lay your head on me, I got you babe, whoa, oh
Kissing underneath the tree
I don't need no presents girl
You're everything I need
Let me give you all of me each year
Together on this Christmas Eve."

I could feel her breath hitch, just a little, as the lyrics left my lips. I meant every single word. I didn't know how to explain it, didn't know how to say it out loud—but I wanted this. I wanted her. Right here, right now, and maybe always.

As I sang the last line, I felt her snuggle deeper into me, her hand gripping mine a little tighter. There was something between us, something neither of us could deny anymore. I didn't know what tomorrow would bring, or how things would play out, but in this moment, with the music, the lights, and the snow falling around us—it felt like this was all that mattered.

We glided in silence for a moment, my heart racing, hers beating steadily against my chest. For the first time in a long time, everything felt right.

Emma's Point of View:

I felt his soft breath against my ear as his beautiful singing voice filled the air, the lyrics wrapping around us like a warm embrace. Each note resonated deep within me, and I couldn't help but feel that he meant every word he sang. It was as if we were the only two people on the rink, gliding together in our own little world.

Justin twirled me effortlessly, his eyes sparkling with mischief as they locked onto mine. The way he looked at me made my heart flutter; it felt like he was seeing me for who I really was. With every pull back into him, I could feel his gaze raking over my body, sending shivers down my spine. Everything about this moment felt so incredibly right.
