Night had finally descended, and Jungkook stood before the entrance of his hallway, awaiting Jin's arrival. As footsteps echoed, Jungkook spoke, his voice tinged with impatience. "Took you so long!" But his tone shifted to displeasure as a creamy scent filled his nostrils.
"What is he doing here?" Jungkook's darkened eyes narrowed, his gaze fixing on the beautiful prince standing behind Jin."He wanted to see Mom," Jin replied, his smile directed at Taehyung, "or should I say, Mom wanted to see him!"
Taehyung's sapphire locks cascaded down as he ran a hand through his hair, his victorious smile aimed squarely at the trueblood. Jin led the way, leaving Jungkook and Taehyung to follow.
The omega's innocent tone was a thinly veiled facade. "You don't look happy to see me." Jungkook's gaze remained fixed ahead as they navigated the halls. "Why should I be? You're trying to get too close. I don't like company."
"I'm getting close?" Taehyung asked, his tone turning serious. "I am not the one who joined a family dinner, which I never do, and say it's because of my future partner. And if someone's pitying you for being a loner and offering company, you should accept it."
Jungkook's expression shifted, a low chuckle rumbling in his chest. "You're just like everyone else," he said, shaking his head. "Why do you people think being alone is bad? I enjoy my company. I like spending time with myself. I know my thoughts, my emotions, and my wolf better than anyone." He stopped walking and turned to face Taehyung.
Taehyung radiated an ethereal glow in the dark hallway, his ocean-blue eyes locked onto Jungkook's. The alpha's rugged demeanour softened for a moment, captivated by Taehyung's celestial beauty.
"One thing you should know, Jungkook," Taehyung began. His voice carried a subtle edge. "I can see very well when people lie. Save the punchlines and don't pretend you don't desire a normal friendship." The omega's words still lingered, echoing in Jungkook's mind as he watched Taehyung join Jin.
Deep in thought, Jungkook took a long, slow breath. Once the duo vanished from sight, he turned and followed the same path.
As they reached out, Taehyung noticed that the castle was divided into two sections.The rear section of the castle unfolded before Taehyung's eyes, its structure mirroring the front but exuding warmth. Fewer guards patrolled this area, replaced by vibrant plants lining the corridors. Soft lanterns cast a golden glow on the stone floors.
"It's warm,"
Jin nodded, a nostalgic smile spreading across his face. "This is where Namjoon, Mom, and I live. After Father remarried, Mother requested to move here, unable to bear the thought of seeing him with another woman." Taehyung's eyes locked onto Jin's, empathy reflected in their depths.
"This is my home," Jin continued, his voice tinged with sentiment. "Jungkook and I spent our happiest childhood moments here." Memories seemed to dance in Jin's eyes as he gazed around the palace.
