Jacob’s first day at sector 78 seemed to whiz past. In one day he had mastered a grapple, pistol and all the functions of his wristwatch. Then he and James made their ways to the dining hall for dinner. They walked in to find the hall practically empty apart from a few agents and Lola. Lola was sitting on her own in the corner of the room reading what seemed to be some kind of text book. James turned to Jacob “I’ll catch you in a minute I need to get something from my room” he then turned and left the hall. Jacob walked cautiously up to Lola.

“What do you want?” she asked not even looking up.

“What’s that you’re reading?”

“it’s a book on the Hypakie if you must know” Lola said haughtily.

“Well, do you mind if I take a look. I think it’s something I need to know about”

Lola looked up at him. Jacob could see pure hatred in her eyes.

“YOU THINK? YOU THINK? WELLL OF COURSE YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT IT. IT’S ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW. WHAT I THINK IS I THINK CAESAR HAS HIRED A COMPLETE IMBECILE TO COMPLETE THE HARDEST MISSION AND BRING BACK THE MOST SACRED OBJECT. SO NO! YOU CAN’T LOOK AT IT” Lola screamed these words at Jacob before picking up her book and storming out of the hall and up the stairs to her own room. James came into the hall and glanced behind him. He then started snickering “Woah did you see her face? Did you see it? Wow something really ticked her off”

Jacob didn’t fill James on what happened with Lola but sat in silence for dinner whilst James sat giggling to himself Her face, my god.

After dinner Jacob and James went upstairs towards their rooms. As they were walking down the corridor they bumped into a very teary eyed Lola.

“Look Jacob. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said those things. I guess I was just mad you were chosen over me. Especially as I am completely trained and I study every night. Then you come along and don’t know anything and are instantly picked” she wiped her eyes and was about to walk off back to her room when Jacob placed a hand on her shoulder.

“It’s fine. I can kind of understand why you go so angry. I would be too. Friends?” he held out his hand and she took it.

“Friends” she agreed. “Oh and by the way, here.” Lola handed him the book she was reading earlier. “You need it more than I do” Lola said, she than turned and skipped back off to her dormitory.
