As the wedding ceremony between Taehyung and Jungkook unfolded, the atmosphere was thick with a mix of joy and underlying tension. In the corner of the grand hall stood Eunwoo and Lise, two figures trapped in a web of their own making.
Eunwoo remained dazed, his mind still reeling from the shocking revelation of his true lineage. Just a few moments ago, he had known that he is the heir of the Jeon family, basking in the glow of adoration from guests and family alike. Now, he felt like a ghost, floating in the shadows of the celebration, a mere spectator to his own life.
Lise, on the other hand, seethed beside him, her teeth grinding in frustration. She had longed to marry into the Jeon family, using her charms to seduce Eunwoo, but now the truth had turned everything upside down. Instead of standing beside a powerful heir, she was left with a man who was no longer relevant in the grand scheme of things. Her eyes were fixated on Taehyung and she thought "why does it always you who got everything"
As the party continued, music and laughter echoed around them, but Eunwoo and Lise remained rooted in their corner. The guests who had once clung to Eunwoo’s every word now avoided his gaze, ignoring his presence as if he had become invisible. He couldn’t comprehend it.
Just a few short weeks ago, he had relished the respect and fear his family’s name commanded. He had strutted through the halls like a king, looking down on those around him with disdain, convinced they existed to serve him. But now, the whispers and laughter surrounded him like a storm, leaving him isolated and confused.

As the party came to an end and the guests began to leave, two unfamiliar figures made their way into the hall, catching Eunwoo’s attention. He watched with growing confusion as Mr. Jeon greeted them warmly. They were the Choi, a family infamous in the business world for their greed and poor reputation. Known for their countless failures and standing at the bottom of the industry, they were the last people Eunwoo expected to see at an event like this. His confusion deepened as Mrs. Jeon joined her husband in greeting the Choi's.
To Eunwoo’s utter disbelief, Mr. Jeon and Mrs. Jeon then approached him with Mr. and Mrs. Choi, introducing them as his real parents.
Eunwoo felt as though the ground had disappeared from under him. From being the son of a powerful business mogul, he had plummeted to the son of a failed, disreputable family. The weight of the revelation left him momentarily speechless, his mind struggling to comprehend the extent of his fall from grace.
Beside him, Lise—who had been feigning fear, pitiful and hiding behind Eunwoo—was equally stunned. Her ambitions of marrying into one of the wealthiest families in the country had already been dashed in an instant. But still She’d hoped Eunwoo would at least turn out to be the son of somewhat well-established family, but to learn that he belonged to the disgraced Choi family was too much to bear. Anger simmered beneath her composed exterior as she realized how far her plans had crumbled, leaving her dreams in tatters. But she can't do anything now.
Mr. and Mrs. Choi put on exaggerated smiles as they approached Eunwoo, feigning delight at finally meeting their “real son.” Their eyes glinted with an odd mixture of anticipation and self-satisfaction as they greeted him, their voices dripping with forced enthusiasm.
“Oh, Eunwoo, we’re so happy to finally see you,” Mrs. Choi cooed, clasping his hand in hers.
Eunwoo, still reeling from the shock of his situation, managed a stiff nod. Trying to maintain some semblance of control, he nodded introduced Lise, who had been lurking quietly behind him.
“This is Lise,” he said, forcing a hint of pride into his voice. “She’s… my girlfriend.”
Lise took a step forward, her expression carefully composed, though her usual confidence was now replaced with a forced smile. She greeted Mr. and Mrs. Choi half-heartedly, her gaze betraying her distaste for the entire situation. Mrs. Choi, noticing Lise, opened her arms and wrapped her in a tight, seemingly affectionate hug.
