The bass from the speakers vibrated through the floor, the crowded party alive with energy. Fairy lights crisscrossed the outdoor terrace, casting a golden glow over the revellers.

Laughter mingled with music as people danced, chatted, and clinked glasses.

It was a celebration for one of Shubman's teammates, and the cricket crew had shown up in full force, dragging their significant others along for the ride.

Prapti stood near the edge of the dance floor, a champagne flute in her hand, watching the crowd with a smile.

She wore a shimmering black dress that hugged her figure perfectly, her hair falling in soft waves over her shoulders.

She looked radiant, her laughter catching Shubman's attention even from across the terrace.

He'd been cornered in conversation with Rohit and Ishan, but when his eyes landed on her, everything else faded into the background.

With a determined grin, he excused himself and made his way over, weaving through the crowd until he was by her side.

"Enjoying yourself?" he asked, leaning in to be heard over the music.

Prapti turned to him, her eyes lighting up. "I am. But someone's been slacking on his boyfriend duties."

"Oh? How so?"

She pointed toward the dance floor. "You haven't asked me to dance yet."

Shubman chuckled, setting his drink on a nearby table. "Well, let's fix that, shall we?"

Before she could respond, he took her hand and led her onto the dance floor.

The music was upbeat, and the crowd was wild, but as Shubman spun her around, everything else seemed to blur.

They moved together effortlessly, laughing as he attempted (and failed) to twirl her without tripping over his own feet.

"Smooth moves, Mr. Gill," Prapti teased, resting her hands on his shoulders as the song shifted to something slower.

"Stick with me, jaan," he quipped, pulling her closer. "I'm just getting warmed up."

The beat softened, replaced by a mellow rhythm. The party around them seemed to fade as Shubman placed his hands on her waist, and Prapti looped her arms around his neck.

They swayed gently to the music, their foreheads almost touching.

"See?" he murmured, his voice low and warm. "I'm not that bad at this."

"You're not," she admitted, her lips curving into a soft smile. "But you are full of surprises tonight."

"Good ones, I hope."

"Always," she said, her fingers brushing the hair at the nape of his neck.

Shubman's gaze softened, his usual playful smirk giving way to something more tender. "You know, I could do this forever."

"Do what?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Dance with you," he replied, his tone earnest. "Hold you like this. Be here, with you. Forever."

Prapti's breath caught, her heart doing a somersault in her chest. "Shub..."

"I mean it," he said, his grip on her tightening slightly. "You're it for me, Prapti. I don't need anything else. Just you. Always."

She blinked back the sudden prick of tears, her throat tight with emotion. "You're such a sap," she managed, her voice shaky but filled with affection.

"And you love it," he said, his dimples flashing as he grinned.

"I do," she admitted, pressing a kiss to his cheek. "I love you."

The words hung between them for a moment, before he leaned down to capture her lips in a kiss.

It was sweet, slow, and completely at odds with the lively party happening around them. When they pulled apart, Prapti rested her head against his chest, swaying in time with the music.

For Shubman, the world could've stopped right there, and he wouldn't have cared. Because in that moment, with Prapti in his arms, he had everything he'd ever wanted.
