Hayley Cullen was born in London, England in 1629 to an Anglican priest. Her family hunted supernatural beings. Witches, nightwalkers, cold ones, children of the moon and shapeshifters. Hayley knew all about the supernatural world because her family had books on every supernatural being, so she understood their strengths and weaknesses and how they were created. However, one night, during a mission to find the purest silver in the land that would kill the children of the moon in an instant, she was attacked by a cold one. When she woke up, however, she thought she was attacked by a nightwalker because she still had a heartbeat and could still eat human food. She was wrong because a few nights later, she transformed into a werewolf, child of the moon. Nowhere in her family’s books did it say anything about hybrids, so she was on her own. Hayley kept her distance from her family, watching over them, even attending her own funeral when she was presumed dead. She was alone until 1708 when she met her mate, Niklaus Mikaelson. He was a hybrid himself. From that moment forward, she was never alone.
