Ojasvi

Sometimes life is all about dealing with crappy people and moving on, but what to do when all these crap are being rubbed upon your face?

Punching them is a good option however not suited to my current position.

"Are they planning to get murdered today?" Jatin whispered nudging Dhriti towards me. "Can't you both work in silence?" I scowled at them. My eyes seething with anger as I stared at the smug look on Sarthak and his lovely girlfriend, Samira.

Don't get me wrong, it's not that I am jealous or something. It's just they both are an eyesore and keep insulting my café every chance they get. My phone buzzed with a notification, well it was on continuous buzzing job from this morning. After all, my idiot friends got to know about mine and Sarthak's break-up. I opened the group we have created- '4 log kya kahenge'.

Yukti : Bitch, you better be ready for what's about to come to you for hiding all this from us.

Chitra : Are you really okay, Ojasvi?

Aradhana : Where is that bastard now? Just tell me his address ☺...

I smile made its way to lips as I typed a message on my phone. It wasn't that I take pleasure in making them worried but this worry shows something to me, something like love. It reminds that I am not alone.

Ojasvi : There is no need to find him, Aru. He is right here, in my café, with his new girlfriend.

Some minutes passed away, only three dots appeared but soon disappeared. Why aren't they replying?

Aradhana : I am coming there.

Chitra : Me too.

Yukti : He is going to rot in hell, very soon. Count me in too. 👺👺

Ojasvi : first of all no one is coming here, guys you have a job to care for. And second of all I don't want a commotion in the café, it would be bad for my business.

I didn't wanted them to ditch their work just to deal with my shit, I can handle this jackass well.

"Busy, are we, little sister?"

A chill went down my spine, the disgusting smell of cigarettes mixed with cologne filled my nostrils. My heart leapt inside my ribs while my breaths came out ragged and uneven, I looked up at the man in front of me, bathing in glory and luxury.

My big brother, Ranvijay Maheshwari smiled at me, which failed to reach up to his eyes.

"H-how..." I choked up on my words. "Why are you here?"

All he did was smile- I hate that smile. "Surprise, surprise, Ojasvi." Unlike his words, his eyes were blank and cold. "I heard you ignored Adarsh's messages. So I thought why not give you a visit?"

My eyes frantically searched for an escape. "I-I was... busy and tired, you see and my phone was also dead." No escape- the whole café was deserted, no Sarthak, no Samira, no Dhriti and no Jatin, none, my big brother's men had done a prefect job escorting everyone out.

"Bad manners, Ojasvi, bad manners." His indifferent voice felt eerie. "You are lying and you know that I hate liars, Ojasvi."

My lips pressed in a straight line, trying to restrain the scream I was holding. "You are wrong-"

"Lies, Ojasvi. I know you are trying to hide, but who are you hiding from? Us? Or you, the real you, the one and only daughter of Dakash Maheshwari?" He chuckled humourlessly. "And this where you are hiding behind? This low class shop?" His voice dropped low, sounding almost fatal. "I can destroy all this in just a snap of a finger, Ojasvi. Remember that."

Anger rose inside me upon hearing his words made all the fear vanish- how could he think of destroying the very thing I hold dear to my heart? "You are there Mr. Maheshwari. You can't touch me or my shop, and you know that too. Or did you need a special reminder from dadu?" He clenched his jaw.

"Let me jog your memory for you, bade bhaiya. I have been given 5 years of freedom to stay as a simple girl and follow my passion in which I still have one year left before I can return to Maheshwari mansion." His eyebrows raised at me as an amused expression playing on his face. "You are still my little sister, Ojasvi. Even if you don't consider yourself as one of us, you still are."

With that all he simply exited the shop. I was stunted, I knew my older brother was weird but an intelligent man however sometimes his actions really never make sense for me. Sometimes I wonder what if we were like some normal siblings with no pressure of wealth upon us, what we would be like?

Work is like an addictive drug to mankind, you would never know when or how time passed if you are devoted to your work and this keeps happening to me, so often that now I don't care.

The door chimed announcing a customer's entry.

"Welcome to Cup O' Clock! What would you like to have-" My greeting was cut short.

"I told you I am coming here." Aradhana smiled at me.

"And we told you we are joining Aradhana." Chitra and Yukti chimed from behind Aradhana.

The happiness bubbled inside me as I stared at my friends, who gave me surprise. Maybe this is love- to be willing to go to any lengths for their beloved, whether it's about travelling from one state to other just to console your friend or just asking a simple question of 'How are you feeling today?'

"Guys it's not done-"

"Shut up, bitch! I know you like it, so drop down this humble act." Yukti cuts me off. "Yukti, don't be so harsh on her. Leave her, Ojasvi, she is like this only." Chitra nudged Yukti.

Not able to control myself anymore I threw my hands around them, pulling them in a bone-crushing hug. I buried my head as tears roll down my eyes, the break-up with Sarthak, Adarsh's messages day before and meeting with my older brother, really did affect. Perhaps all I needed was someone to console me and whisper everything is gonna be alright. I kept crying as all of them kept whispering every consolation they could conjure.

After what felt like an eternity, I looked up sniffing, my eyes red with all that crying.

"Stop crying, now girl." Aradhana said, wiping my tears. "I know what you need! All you need is some alcohol and a dance floor." Yukti smirked.

"Nooo!" We, all three cried together, knowing well what Yukti was asking us to do. "Yes, we are going. Alcohol is the best remedy for all your secret truths flowing out of your mouth." Yukti dismissed our denial as she dragged us out with us.

Well, we all are set for hell of a night.
