"Trust is like a mirror. Once broken, it can be very hard to repair."

      Asteria:
After my mom's final words, I realized life wasn't as innocent as I thought, The world was dark and treacherous, I watched my mom die in my hands, and I watched her fade away,  I couldn't do anything to stop her. Tears streamed down my face as I looked at the spot where she had just disappeared, lost in thought.
My mother Eira was a radiant soul, her bright face and features perfectly reflected her gentle nature. She never seemed angry or troubled. I vividly remember her looking into my eyes and saying "A pure heart is like a clear stream, reflecting the beauty of the soul." I never fully understood the meaning back then, but I always admired her serenity and compassion"
From a young age, she taught me spells, magic and how to maintain composure. Today was different. She seemed weaker, her body fading. She ran her hands through my hair and pulled me closer, our gazes fixed on the setting sun.
'Asteria,' she began, 'I may not be here much longer. You must stay safe and okay.' I didn't understand what she meant and kept looking at her.
'I know I haven't been entirely open about our past,' she continued. 'Your father Tristan, loves you deeply. Ten years ago, he risked his life to save both of us. He loves you, and I do too. You must be safe and stay away from danger.'
My eyes filled with tears as I realized she was fading. I hugged her tightly, crying,
'Mother, don't leave me alone. Where would I go now?
''Astra,' she called me, 'You're not alone. A path will guide you to my mother's home.
You must stay there and be a good girl. Remember everything I've taught you. You must have a good heart, a pure soul, and never devise to hurt anyone.
'As she disappeared, she cast a protective spell on me, transforming me into a guardian with a hairpin on my head and a mask covering half my face. Her final words echoed in my mind: 'You must not reveal your face to anyone except your relatives."
I came back to my real self, realizing I had never truly known my identity. I thought I was a normal girl who could cast spells and magic, but my arrival at my grandmother's home would reveal more about myself. I touched my face, feeling the mask and the hairpin that now adorned me. The gown I wore seemed different, more elegant than the ones I had previously worn. As I looked into the mirror, I saw a reflection of a strong and determined young woman, ready to face the challenges that lay ahead.
Am I ready for what the future holds?
