All of a sudden the light went off and the Suvek fell to the floor making a loud noise. Emery opened her eyes as if she had been sleeping and looked at Roman's to realise it had happened.
"Roman, what happened?"
He couldn't respond. For a moment, he thought he lost her. Without saying a word Roman put both his hands at each side of Emery's face and gave a kiss. Frowning his forehead and squeezed his eyes shut; it seemed as if he blamed himself for what almost happened to her.
"I'm so glad you're alive. For a moment I thought..."
"Roman," she said caressing his face. "I'm fine."
But that feeling of ease soon vanished when she saw Grayson lying pale on the floor.
"Oh my God, Grayson!" She screamed. Emery got up and ran towards Grayson, whose wound was covered by Drake's hands trying to keep pressure on it. The blood coming through his fingers.
When hearing his name, Grayson slowly opened his eyes and looked for Emery's. A timid smile showing.
"Emery, I'm sorry."
"Don't talk Grayson, you're gonna be fine. Just stay with me." She held his hand and covered it with hers.
"He's gonna take good care of you."
Sobbing, Emery turned to Roman who was standing looking down at Grayson.
"Can't we go and get Cyper to help him?" She said tears rushing down her face. "Please!"
"Emery, it's too late."
She looked back at Grayson.
"Emery," said Drake, "the bullet hit him near the heart. He's lost too much blood."
With Grayson's hand on her mouth she muttered "No".
He started coughing, blood coming out his mouth. Drake had moved back and now his bloody hands were resting on his knees.
Emery came closer to Grayson, bended and kissed him on his forehead. Their faces only a few inches apart. He looked at her, caressed her face and with his last breath said "Emery, I love you".
