The scent of lavender and John's familiar warmth filled Damian's senses. He resisted the urge to scowl, his mind a whirlwind of anxieties. John, bless his clueless heart, was blissfully unaware of the mental acrobatics Damian was performing.

"I'm fine," Damian muttered, his gaze fixed on the ceiling. The date was tomorrow. John's first ever date with the son of Batman. It had to be perfect.

He'd spent the entire day agonizing over it. A rooftop picnic? Too obvious. A museum? Too boring. A drive-in movie?

"You're frowning," John mumbled, his voice laced with drowsiness. "What's got you so worked up?"

Damian sighed, the weight of his anxieties pressing down on him. "It's nothing."

John's hand found his, his fingers warm against Damian's skin. "Don't lie to me. Especially not in bed. You're not good at it."

Damian's cheeks burned. He pulled his hand away, but John held on tight.

"It's about tomorrow," he admitted, his voice barely a whisper.

John's eyes widened. "Oh. You're nervous."

"No," Damian snapped, his pride bruised. "I just want it to be... special. For you. It's important to me that you have a good time."

John chuckled, a low, rumbling sound that sent shivers down Damian's spine. "You're such a softie, Bats."

"I'm not a softie," Damian protested, but John's hand squeezed his, a silent reassurance.

"I know," John said, his voice barely a whisper. "But you care. And that's what matters."

He leaned in, his lips brushing against Damian's ear. "Don't worry so much. I'll have a good time, no matter what we do. Just being with you is enough."

Damian's heart thumped against his ribs. He had to admit, it was a little bit comforting, knowing that John was so easygoing. Maybe he didn't need to plan the perfect date after all. Maybe all he needed was John.

"Fine," he grumbled, his voice rough. "But you better not complain about the date. It's going to be... unique."

A mischievous grin spread across John's face. "Unique? I like the sound of that. Tell me more, Bats."

Damian's cheeks burned again. He didn't have a plan yet, but somehow, he knew it would be a date John would never forget. As long as he had John by his side, it couldn't possibly go wrong.

The next day, Damian woke up early, the sun barely peeking over the horizon. He had a few ideas but none that seemed quite right. As he dressed, he contemplated the day ahead. He knew John liked adventure, but how could he give him that without exposing their identities?

John emerged from the bathroom, towel slung over his shoulders, a question in his eyes. Damian looked up, his thoughts racing. "Ready for a surprise?" he asked, trying to keep the nervousness out of his voice.

John grinned. "Always."

Damian felt a flutter in his stomach. He had to make this work. He led John out of the penthouse, down the hidden passageways of Wayne Manor, and into the Batcave. The sleek, black and gray space was quiet, the only sound the faint hum of the technology.

"What's going on, Bats?" John's curiosity was piqued, his eyes darting around the cavernous room.

Damian smirked, his earlier anxieties giving way to excitement. "I thought we'd start our date with a little... flight training."

John's jaw dropped. "You're kidding, right?"

"Does it look like I'm kidding?" Damian gestured to the state-of-the-art Batsuit laid out before them.

John's eyes lit up like the Bat-Signal. "No way. This is... incredible."

Damian felt his nerves settle. He had done it. He had found a way to give John an unforgettable experience that didn't involve capes and cowls, but was still thrilling. They spent the morning in the Batsuit simulator, John's laughter echoing through the cavern as he mastered the art of virtual flight. The tension between them dissipated as they competed, each trying to outdo the other in a series of aerial challenges.

After a few hours, Damian called a break. "We should get ready," he said, checking his watch. "Our actual date starts soon."

John looked at him, slightly breathless from his victory in the last simulation. "Is this it? The big surprise?"

Damian nodded, his own heart racing from the excitement. "Just the prelude. Get dressed."

John looked down at his sweat-soaked shirt, a grin on his face. "Okay, okay. But you're not getting out of this that easy." He winked before disappearing back upstairs to change.

Damian took a deep breath, his mind racing. He had the perfect date planned, but now he needed to execute it flawlessly. The Batcave was off-limits, so he had to be creative. He decided to keep the adventure theme going.

John emerged from the elevator, dressed in a crisp button-down and jeans, looking every inch the charming, normal guy he was. "So, where are we off to, Batman?"

Damian rolled his eyes at the tease but couldn't help the smile that tugged at his lips. "Somewhere that combines adventure with a touch of... subtlety."

(😭😭😭.I didn't know what to do for the main part of the date I'm sorry y'all)
