"Ann?"

She was just the age of twenty four but she was successful, well, successful to her own will. It was so easy for her really. Being the sister of Seouls Chief of Police ment she was respected and well acknowledged. Sure she didn't have many friends but one was all she really wanted. Ann was the person she grew up with and they were practically inseparable. They worked together, lived together, walked together, ate together. Nothing ever came between them and they told eachother everything. Ann was no one of great status or anything, she was just one person amoung the ten million in Seoul. Yet she was the one person Y/n cared the most about. They got a job at Seouls most renowned club mearly because it payed so high. Ann and Y/n loved it there, they were treated like they had some sort of special title. They did everything together, till Ann disappeared.

It's been a month but it felt like the longest month of Y/n's life. She's nagged and pestered her brother Dan about any new information or lead but the case was running cold after just a month. She wanted her bestfriend back and would do anything to get her back. Sitting in her brothers office late at night somehow gave her a peace of mind. Dan was out on a case yet she was here overlooking all the files of the missing Ann. She couldn't put her finger on it but something was so familiar with Ann's disappearance. She's seen this before, Y/n was aware of were she worked weather she was told or not. She may act clueless at work but it was to keep her from slipping.

The club she worked at was not just a place you go to get wasted, or a lap dance or even a good blow. She knew what went down under the club. The Mafia was big in Korea, she just didn't know which one she worked under. Y/n could feel it in her bones that Ann vanishing had something to do with the Mafia, she knows it. Her brother Dan trained her to trust her gut, he trained her to be defiant and in charge yet he also taught her to cover her nature as if she was important. Y/n wasn't someone who ran, she enjoyed a good thrill, even if it got her in trouble, Ann would know, yet Ann wasn't here.

Her long trail of inner monologue was interrupted when the office door opened and her brother Dan appeared. "Who let you in here?" He first said over anything else. Dan came to his desk and took the files she was looking at and put them away. "Jiwoong let me in. It's easy to get what I want when the man I ask likes me." The women smiled mischievously and Dan rolled his eyes. "Don't even think about Jiwoong. And as for these, I've told you already we're not stopping till we find her." Y/n slouched in the seat she was in. "It's not fast enough. If you would just give me clearance–" Dan ran a hand through his hair and cut her off. "For the last time no. I don't care how trained you are, you are not touching this case. You're emotionally attached to the person and I can't have you wreck what I've worked hard on gathering." Y/n sighed and looked at him as if she would convince him.

Dan shook his head. "Stop. Be mad all you want, I don't want you near it. Understand?" She could hear how serious he was. She's tried and tried to get in on this investigation but he didn't want her out on this. "Fine, I won't." Dan didn't believe her. "Y/n." He called her name so sternly. "I'll just find her myself." She turned around and instantly felt Dan grabbed her arm. She furrowed her brows and ripped her arm from his hold. "You're not doing anything, what is so hard to understand?!" The women eyed him like he was trying to ruin her motives, he was. "This is Ann we're talking about. You've known her all my life and you say I am to emotionally involved? It's bullshit, Dan." She left the office and Dan let her leave.

She walked past the empty desk and out of the station. If it was her missing she knew Ann would come for her herself, so why should she not do the same? The cold air and light mist and fog made her mind clear. The weather was getting colder and Ann was out there. She knew Ann was alive, she could feel it. Yet she knew if Ann was alive there was no way she wasn't suffering. Ann was beautiful, she was intelligent and strong minded. She had a pretty smile and light brown eyes. Yet Ann wasn't like Y/n, she couldn't fight off anyone no matter how hard she wanted too. She was trained classically not physically. Ann needed her, someone.

Y/n stepped to the crosswalk and paused at the red light infront of her. She was frustrated, she went to work and thought of Ann, she went home and was surrounded by Ann's things. She's been staying in a hotel to avoid Ann's belongings. She closed her eyes and finally for a moment it was clear as the mist gently hit her face. For a moment nothing seemed to matter. Nothing of importance, nothing. Yet something broke that train of nothingness. A vibration from her phone. Y/n was sure it was her brother but the second she saw Ann's number she didn't hesitate to open the message. Yet it wasn't a message at all, but a photo. A photo of herself.

Her heart was beating fast from the adrenaline she was feeling. This was an image from this moment. She looked around and saw no one, not Ann or anyone. Who took this photo of her? "Ann?" She mumbled, she looked at the image and it was most definitely a picture of her right now. She watched as the text bubble began to type, who had Ann's phone, who was watching her?

"Ann wishes you luck, so do I, J.K."
