Author's POV
Ishika sat in her favorite chair, absorbed in her book, unaware of the time passing. She waited for her husband to come home.
When the clock is stuck at 10 PM, the distant sound of tires crunching on gravel broke the evening stillness, pulling her from her reverie. She rose and moved to the balcony, peering through the glass doors just in time to see him stepping out of the passenger seat, his silhouette framed by the soft glow of the mansion's lights. With a mix of relief and anticipation, she watched as he walked toward the front door, the sight of him warming her heart.
As Sahil stepped into the room carrying his coat on his arm, he was enveloped by the familiar fragrance that filled the air, a blend of jasmine and sandalwood that instantly soothed his body and mind. It was a scent he had come to associate with comfort and tranquility, wrapping around him like a warm embrace.

The feel of her silky nightie against his body sent a wave of heat coursing through him, awakening every sense and he felt his breath get heavier. He found himself dropping the coat on the floor.
Instinctively, he pulled away from her gentle hold, turning to face her. The moment their eyes met, a powerful connection surged between them, and he felt as though he was falling into the depths of her gaze. Her eyes sparkled with a mix of uncertain emotions, drawing him in like a magnet.
Without thinking, he reached out and cupped her face in his hands, his thumb brushing lightly against her cheek. The world around them faded as he brought her closer, feeling the warmth radiating from her body. In that instant everything else vanished, leaving only the two of them suspended in their own world.
Their lips met in a passionate kiss, it was a kiss that spoke of all the moments they had shared, the frustrations of the day melting away as they became lost in each other. He tasted the sweetness of her lips, the softness of her breath igniting a fire within him.
As they pulled away, breathless, Sahil's heart raced, a mixture of desire and longing flooding through him.
He took her in his arms, went towards the bed and made her lay down. He hovered over her and started kissing her neck and jaw.
Ishika instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck to pull him closer . He started sucking her neck to which she moved her face to the other side giving him full access.
They were lost in the heat of the moment only the sounds of rustling of clothes can be heard , she was only left in her lingerie. Her fingers tried to unbutton his shirt . He helped her in undressing his shirt.

A few seconds later, he received a call, breaking their moment. He furrowed his brows, picked up his phone, and listened to whatever the caller said.
Sahil's desire soon turned into a fury as he ended the call. He got up from the bed and started tidying himself expressionlessly.
Ishika looked puzzled, and asked him " what happened?"
"You tricked me into this." he replied icily.
Ishika felt speechless, she couldn't fathom the meaning of his words. For her this sudden change of moments felt like a bow to her heart.
She clenched her fists and asked him, "Don't you like me, Sahil?" She continued, "Tell me, have you ever found yourself loving me even once in these two years of our marriage?"
Sahil paused, the silence between them thick and suffocating, as if the very air had frozen with his hesitation. His gaze was sharp, almost icy, as he looked at her, devoid of the warmth she once yearned for.
Then, his voice cut through the tension like a blade, cold and unfeeling, "Don't make me laugh, Ishika. I married you because of the arrangement between our families. There is nothing between us, it's just an obligation for me."
For a moment, time seemed to stand still. The room felt colder, as if all the warmth between them had been drained away, leaving only an emptiness that neither of them could fill.
The words fell heavy, like stones sinking into the pit of her stomach, each syllable laced with indifference. His tone was distant, the sharpness of his statement echoed in her ears, shattering whatever fragile hope she had clung to.
The realization hit her like a punch to the chest-this wasn't a marriage born of love, but of duty, of a contract signed in ink but never in heart.
His reply made her eyes shut, as though closing them could shield her from the pain that now seemed unbearable. Slowly, she reached for her clothes, her movements robotic, stripped of any emotion.
There was no urgency in her actions, no passion, no fire-just the quiet, mechanical motions of someone who had been broken down, piece by piece, until all that remained was a shell of the woman she once was.
She didn't look at him. She couldn't. Instead, she focused on the simple task of dressing herself, as if by finishing it, she could somehow put herself back together.
But deep down, she knew she couldn't. Not this time.
Sahil watched her for a brief moment, There was no tenderness in his gaze, no trace of regret or guilt.
Without a word, he turned away, his face expressionless, his mind already elsewhere. His footsteps were slow but steady as he left the bedroom, not bothering to look back.
Ishika sat on the edge of the bed, her slender frame hunched forward as though the weight of her emotions had broken her down. Her face was buried in her knees, hiding the streams of tears that flowed endlessly, soaking through her clothes.
Each sob that escaped her lips was raw, a desperate release of pain she had been holding inside for far too long. Her body shook with the force of her crying, trembling as if her heart itself was shattering with every breath.
The room around her seemed to stand still, as if the very air was heavy with sorrow. It was as if the world had fallen away, and all that remained was the overwhelming grief pouring out of her, drop by drop, tear by tear.
